Hello, you have a great setup there! I like the fan idea! Good work!

I'm interested in the vortech pump you have there. Thats the first time I have ever seen a consumer posess one of them. Many people(including me) are trying to DIY one of them with no avail. This is due to lack of information about them....considering 99% of people have never seen one before!

If you don't mind me asking, can you provide any information about how this pump is put together? It'll be interesting to see how EcoTech balances the propeller in the in-tank half.

Thanks alot,
Tony

Looking good. More pics! More pics! How did you attach your fans to your tank? I just got those same fans and will be setting my tank up for my new lighting next week. Thx

sturm2002: You can pre-order them here.
http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_...er.asp?CartId=

exmt: Other then knowing that one magnet is rotating the other magnet on the propeller side, I dont know all the other small details on how it works. All I know is its awesome and it pushes ALOT of water and doesnt put any heat into the tank .

beefcake: I used these to mount the fans.

Well back to pictures . This is alittle timeline of some of my tanks in the past years. It was sure a learning experience as you can see.

First saltwater tank. 29g starter kit from petco lol.

Second saltwater tank. 44g tall.

Third attempt

Starting to learn some stuff.

Then my last tank before the one I have now that didnt last long. No sump, to much heat from 2x250w MH, to much equipment in the tank etc etc etc.

Damn, you got the experiance on me, I had one learning tank, a 55. I had it for about 2 years and at its peak I was only making $100 every 2 weeks so I just didnt have the funds. My tank didnt have the equipment and was way to much maintance and its the reason I'm doing my 75g right and getting the BEST possible equipment because I think then I'll have a pretty good chance of keeping a successful tank.

So how much do you estimate youve spent now on all your setups? My guess is about $8000-12000. You must have so much extra equipment.

Is that a fish in the SEIO?

For your new tank I think if you used Locline instead of that plumbing inside of the plumbing it would look a lot cleaner, I mean cmon youve gone this far spend $10 on locline!

I dont even want to think about how much I spent total . I made alot of mistakes with equipment/Livestock in the past and have learn alot from it. Very expensive mistakes but I did learn, which is the important part. This new setup has set me back about 2500-2700 so far.

No the Anthias was not stuck in the Seio, but sure does look like it .

Eh, I dont care to much about showing off plumbing. Im just going for quiet/efficient. Maybe some day ill change my mind though .

Alright, took a couple pics with a much better camera that has manual whitebalance which shows much more true color then my last pics. I was also able to get a pic with all the lights on. My last camera just didnt like all the light to get a decent picture of that.

FTS All bulbs on.

FTS 2xBlueplus dusk/dawn on.

sweet!!

moving that vortech around huh?

Thats the actual color, I thought your tank would be so blue, like the duskdawn all the time!

Damn I love the look of no equipment in the tank

Thanks!

Yeah trying to find the sweet spot for the vortech.

Actually, my tank is alittle bit bluer then the picture shows with all the lights on. I needa learn how to take good pictures that resemble the true colors. Ill mess with the white balance alittle more.

Actually, my old tank blew up my tv wich was 4 feet away from it. Ended up costing me 500$ to fix the tv.

Why did it kill my tv? Salt spray and metal rust, and with those fans, I bet you in 1 year your tv will break. I would move the tv, or the tank.

Setup looks awesome! Good luck

Thanks .

The eurobrace/canopy does a good job keeping the salt spray at a minimum. I dont even really get saltspray on my lights which are 4" from the water surface. If I do start seeing any issues with the tv, ill move it to the left abit.

Benicia huh? Thats cool. Theres abunch of bay area reefers on RC. You can go to the reef clubs and find all kinds of locals.
