I got rid of my pea soup! After 4 days of blackout.I took all the cover off only to still find pea soup.I read a artical about somebody who had the same problem and had used a uv sterilizer with no luck or so he thought.AFTER you use uv or a blackout you have to clean up the water!I added a micron filter and dosed it with seachem clarity and it cleared in a hour and has been so for 24hr now.I built a a simple skimmer with a tall water bottle, power head and cup.It looks hideous but i think its working. It makes foam, sometimes discolored.Well I guess it will do til I find a good one thats not too high or a used one.
Thanks agin! Buzz!

Green water is gone completly. I have a feeling it had something to do with the bulbs because right when I upgraded to MH, the problem was gone in about four days. There are UV protective sheilds on it so I don't think that UUV rays killed the algae.
