Nope, the virus is contagious and getting worse. I will be getting rid of the 120 reef and just have the 240 and 220, so I will have enough saltwater to kill my home theater system if both tanks decide to go boom. lvpd, if you would like to see it just let me know I'm free tomorrow and monday but I will be working nights for about a month.

I like the shot of the hermit with the xeni on it. I had one that picked up a shell with a 'sroom on it. BTW I saw from the other thread that you got a leak on the collection cup with the new skimmer. That stinks.. Are they sending you a replacement?

Nice looking tank. Are you just upgrading size or what is the plan for livestock with that bad boy?

I plan on moving all my animals from the 120 into the 220 and I just ordered a 72" hood with 3 250W MH and 4x96W PC's. I will create a basement sump room with the H&S skimmer, controller, calcium reactor since I'm tired of hearing water noises in my family room. I will also try to get a Golden Rhomboid and Pyles fairy wrasse for the tank if I can get a LFS around here to order one.

first a 240, then a 220.....I give it 6 months and you will find thats not enough and set the 120 back up you need one reef, one fish only and one agressive . looking good. possible tanks tour??

I would welcome a tank tour in about 2 months when I'll finally be done with everything including the sump room.

Well...while everyone was having fun at the Christmas party I was stuck putting this together. The rocks were put in haphazardly to get the tank back together since it was taking way too much time to get the old 120 gal tank out. Then getting the newer tank into the same spot...what a pain. This will be the last tank I get, my hands are all cut and calloused.
Here is the tank with the lights on, I will post some more pics with all the extra rocks in the tank. Here is the basement sump area. |

how far does it drop into the basement? and how did you deal with the water crashing into the sump? it looks fairly calm compared to mine.

Looks good! You're going to love having the sump and equipment in the basement! Looks like you beat me getting water into the tank!

The water drops about 6ft to the sump, I need to throttle back on the return pump the water in the first chamber looks like the water in the skimmer next to it from the air bubbles. I have the return lines about 4" under the water of the first chamber to deal with the splashing. My biggest fear now is that I'll come home to 500gals of saltwater on the floor of the family room and my Xbox being turned into a paperweight. Tom what kind of fish are you thinking of getting for the tank? Still thinking about getting a Sohal Tang?

Have you thought about the genicanthus angels and doing a harem of those? I just picked up a watanabei female and she is really good looking, i cant wait to see them on the list and get 3-4 juvies so she turns male.

Here is what the tank looks like today after rearranging and adding new rock from Rick. He sold me about 60lbs but it seemed like 100 to me.

Very nice tank setups. Is that a calcium reactor in the picture of your basement sump area? How well does it work? Do you do any other calcium or alk supplements?
I have skimmer envy - is there a 12 step program for that? Thanks |

Thats a Geo reactor, it keeps the tank around 400-440 calcium even with 7 clams in the tank. I add magnesium, strontium, alk, and iodine in small amounts to the tank twice a week. There is no 12 step program that I know of but sounds like a good idea around here.

I almost forgot, here is a pic of the size of the bristleworms you'll find in a 2year old tank. These are the ones I could find the longest one measured 14" I think it could be stretched out 20"+.
