Seio pumps anyone using them? - Page 2

I replaced 1 Seio 1100 and 1 Seio 1500 with 1 Vortec. Both were in the same spots when replaced (the two Seios were next to one another). The vortec made significantly more flow once in that spot.

I know this as fact because previously, the Seios did not properlly stir up a certain corner. After the Vortech, that wasn't the case anymore, and detritus was whipped up from that corner.

The vortech being stronger should be expected, however. The maker claims up to 3200gph in peak conditions, with 3000gph advertised "on the box".

I have a 1500 and a 1100 with no issues after a year and a half. The key is maitenance and I'm willing to bed many don't do that. Dump it in a solution of 1:5 vinegar/water solution for 24 hrs. It will eat anything alive in there. I rinse it and toss it back in. I never have seizing problems ever when the power trips or if I turn it off and on. This should be done imo every 4 to 6 months.
