Hey Micheal
After all the effort in making your big NW pump this DLS wheel is a little diturbing, it so easy. Where are you posting your info on it?

I'm looking to skim about 650g, so if one works well I may double up! Even 2 of these should use ~ the same or less watts than a snapper with an air pump.
yeah i was going to make one also but these are cheaper than i thought they would be. I still probably will build one, one day in my free time . But it wont be to save money.

Thanks Creetin. So the Eheim pumps will not be used, is this correct? They will use those italian pumps which manufacture pumps for Tunze?

Yes the ones that are supposed to be the same manf (Sicce) as the new pumps.
This is just what i read in one of the links provided above by roland, and Oliver pritzel said that all of the ATI's would have them . I think he's the owner of ATI

smjtkj, what are you using for the body? Are you going to start a thread on this build?

roland, I'd still like to build one just to see it perform, and to see if I can!

I don't want to derail your thread. I have not started a thread on the threadwheel skimmer yet. I have pics of the new skimmer body and a pic of the threadwheel. I guess i need to start a new thread on the project. I am building a replacement for the Tiny Might skimmer as a member on RC bought it from me.

Wow, these are the same pumps (Sicce) that Tunze will use on their master DOC skimmers! Tunze calls them 'Hydrofoamers". Here is a link:

I suppose that I am excited because if it's good enough for Tunze, it's good enough for me!!

Me TOO! I cant wait to get mine. I have been drooling over the BK's but it was no way economical for me to get it.
Now i am not so depressed.
Maybe one day i'll have a BK, But now i dont feel like i am left out.

Has anybody heard from greg when they are coming in?
Roland did he say there was 2 shippments? He told me he had a large shippment coming in.

I just emailed him, and i guess i am in the first wave as long as they get their skimmers they ordered.

I placed my pre-order with Greg this morning and he stated that they could be in within the next 2-4 weeks. He really didn't know himself. He did say that he should be gettting enough to fill all pre-orders. I hope that's true!

There's a lot of engineering that balances pump, skimmer cylinder size and height. Most likely the Eheim wasn't a good match for the body size. I just hope that the workmanship is more consistent by the time they ship out the USA models... hate to see each model slightly different... especially the pump dremeling.

Its a little more than that from what i heard. It wasnt on the skimer body and size, I am not of liberty to say the reasons why..

I'm going to try and get my local guy to test the new BM and compare to other skimmers.

That would be a cool, I would like to see it pitted against the big dawgs and see how well it turns out.

Base on all the photos, it looks like it is not sealed to be able to install externally, so in sump only.

I have convinced my local guy to do a test on the new BM250 skimmer when it becomes available and he will do some side by side comparisons. He was once a believer in ER only and closed minded about everything else. Now, he is open minded (after much urging from his clients), especially after carrying some of the high end skimmers and seeing how they perform. He is currently testing a Lifereef and I'll get a chance to see it this Friday.

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have any personal experience with the BM 150? Everyone is talking about the two larger models, but I'd be interested in the 150 because I have a smaller tank. The pump is definately different, and it's internal, anybody care to make a guess of how this one will compare to it's two bigger brothers? The 250 and 200 models look promising, but I'd be curious as to the performance of the 150, because I know some other companies smallest models are not on par with their larger models, ie. ASM mini vs their larger stuff.

Thanks!

Looks cool, I havnt seen one run, But the 150 looks to have an adustable standpipe for water height.
You could do a review for us.
With the amt of air coming from the pumps i am pretty confident that it will pull some skimmate for ya.
