Does anyone know the distance from the center of one screw to the center of the other on the 120 20"?
length wise I mean.
I am trying to make a hanger for it and need that measurement.

I am liking the Razor now. At first i did not like it and went back to MH/T5. But was reading on here a member had made the sugggestion raising it up as in more height and big difference. Mine is the 160 over a 54 gallon corner a 9 inches of height and working well now.

You will need three to cover your tank maybe 4 might wait making a hanger until you figure that out

If so, it looks like, from the picture, that there is a minimum distance that the rods keep the fixtures separated...can you tell me what that is? I want to put my brackets in the wall this weekend and want to get the measurements right...

TIA

I just realized you were talking about the bracing on a glass tank, I have an acrylic tank does that change the recommendation for 2 160w or 3 120w fixtures for a 6ft tank?

No i spent $17 on 316 stainless steel rods to run between the lights. I used electrical shrink tubing to keep them separated at the gap i needed. Hadnt seen the "official" ones til now..

Not if you basically have 2 openings. I have a 6ft 125 glass tank with 1 center brace (2 openings). The 2 27" are perfect.

Ah. Interesting. Good idea. I supposed I could just do that too. It looks like the "official" ones have about a 3" minimum, but I'd love to get that confirmed by someone at CoralVue in the next 48 hours so I can drill my holes first thing Monday morning...

Or I could go your route too.

Take a picture or some measurements. We have no idea what your tank looks like.

Loving this thread but haven't gotten through all of it yet. Sorry if my question has been covered already!
But I'm currently trying out one of the "D120" style generic LED fixtures as a cheap experiment. 6" over the water of my 36G bow it has good enough coverage and brightness and I'll probably raise it a little higher because it interferes with the glass top access flap. Anyhoo, the light is about 5' off the floor as is, so if you're sitting anywhere in the room you'll see 'up the skirt' so to speak and get blinded by the LED bulbs. I've had to tape a longer paper 'skirt' around it to block that. Not pretty.
Looking at the Razors - they are gorgeous! It would probably get mounted a bit higher over the tank and one would not want to cover it or somehow damage the design esthetics. So does anyone have trouble with getting 'blinded by the light' from the direct view of the bulbs? Solutions?

- D

Whoa...my wife, instead of the expected response of laughing in my face, just said, "did you want to buy them?" As we discussed LED lighting for my tank.

Did my wife just green light an LED upgrade? Oh yes, I think she did...

Either that, or this is some sort of cleverly laid trap.

So, 2x120's over a 75g SPS reef should suffice, no?
I'm thinking about using the legs (she'll be happier with the legs than a hanging kit) with the "official" connecting rods. How would that be in terms of height?

A friend just got the 27in 160w version, he replaced his Masara model's and said he likes these better as far as what it was offering. I have not seen it myself but he said he is very happy.

If anyone is thinking about buying these DO IT! These are the most pleasing LEDs that i have used yet, shimmer is great and the colors are very natural.

Got my 160W 10k razor today and here are some pics...
At first I was hesitant on if I liked the light or not, but the more I look at it the more I fall in love with it. It seems not only do the corals have to acclimate to the razor, but so do my eyes lol.

paul 89,

do you like the 10k model? what are your channels presently at, percentage wise.
I have the 16k model and it seems very pinkish in hue unless I dial down the B channel to be the same as the A channel. how do you feel the 10k model looks to the eye and to the corals. I was thinking about buying the 10k and selling my 16k because I like a crisp white look with popping colors instead of a crisp blue look.

Yes, I like the 10k. My bro-in-law got the 16k a couple days before me. I wanted to have each set of light colors on each channel. Whites on A, blues on B. Today was the first day I ran the leds, so I chose 60% white (A) and 90% blues (B) for a 6hr period. Honestly I'm used to the pinkish hue because I had blue/magenta ecoexotic stunner strips before this light as a supplement to my T-5's. It is not pink at all to me. The 10k brings out the yellows a little bit more, that's the only difference really.
