what is wrong with my skimmer
I finally got impellers for my a200 2 x1260, no matter what i try, I cannot run both the pumps at same time, every time both pumps are turned on, it starts to overflow, even i cannot open full air intake of one pump that is running.
I tried increasing and decreasing water flow, no luck so far, the bubbles though are pretty small and good, any help would be appreciated. |

On the A200 with 2x1260 Eheims, you need to run both pumps with the venturi air line partially clamped until the air/water is less turbulent.
Takes a lot of tuning with the air mixture and water level to get this skimmer working right. |

Where is the water level inside the skimmer body when the pumps are off? Mine is slightly below where the curved part of the top chamber is welded to the straight cylinder.

I have a H&S 90-1000 skimmer and am having a difficult time with the Aqua Bee 5000 pump it is the smallest pump in thier line. This is a new pump that Bryan sent me, I clean it monthly with a good vinegar bath but today I cannot seem to get it to want to suck in air the pump runs fine if it is the vinegar bath but hook up the air tube barely nothing comes out. So I redrilled out the venturi and still nothing better I removed the air tube and stuck the venturi plastic nipple out of the water still same bad performance, stick the pump under water and it takes off again pumping large amounts of water, and soon as the air tube or venturi is in the air the pump caveats. How does one set the bottom bearing, the one in the pump? You think I would get more than one finger wide in the cup in three weeks on a 33 gallon tank with 4 fish.I will post a video tomorrow when I get new batteries in my Flip. Any thoughts or suggestion will greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know who to contact for replacement parts for H&S skimmers? I have an H&S A150 and the pump seems to be going bad on me. The pump runs just fine when I have the venturi clamped, but if I allow any air to get pulled in it sounds (and feels) like the impeller is rattling around and the pump doesn't put much flow out.

Are they still in business?? In the last 2 weeks, I have called 5+ times a day and left 5+ messages and nobody answers or returns my calls?
I just sent an email to H&S, this is crazy! I have a $1k in H&S products and they are worthless without replacement parts. I have talked to Brian in the past. He does seem like a great guy and he has helped me out. I do hope all is well and maybe he has a valid reason but, really, if he is the onley H&S distributor, they need a back up if he is not around. |

They did lose the contract to sell Maxspect LED lights and H&S skimmers sales have probably dropped off also. I did speak with Brian also and he also stated that they are getting to Diving Equipment, sorry not much help, I'm glad I got a replacement pump when I did. Good luck

If its a pump issue, it just uses a standard Eheim 1260.....real easy to replace. |

Ok, I'm getting a lot of turbulence up by the neck of the skimmer. Has anyone tried putting a 45 on the pump output so it shoots the bubbles down a little? I know that Deltecs have this but not sure how it would work on the H&S.

[QUOTE=saltyfun;19634362]I need a replacement impeller for the Aquabee 1000. This is the smallest Skimmer H&S makes, the 90-f1000. QUOTE]
EDIT Ok, I got an email back from H&S. They said, they will sell direct and they were nice and offered me a discount on the pump. I actually found an online source for the new version of the Aquabee 1000. They are in Canada, "Reef Concept". I just ordered a new pump and accessories to fix up my old one. They sell the needlewheel, ceramic shafts, "silent" shaft bearings, regular impellors, etc.. Hope this helps people out. I have nothing to do with them, just googled "Aquabee needle wheel parts" and found them so, if I am breaking any RC rules, let me know.. |

The parts I got from Reef Concepts are from Canada and has nothing to do with H&S rather, they just sell Aquabee products. No, I live in Chicago. |

FYI - My tank is +/-50 gallons and is a mixed reef with 2 fish. I would say the bio load is light to medium light and the skimmer handles it just fine. |
