I know what you are saying, and that is why I too have separate devices for various gear.

My AC3 does a few things for me, but it doesn't control everything. Heck, because I had some stupid x-10 issues earlier this year, it only controls two of the four lights on my tank.

However, what you described tonight seems more serious - the controller was definitely way out there. Like it got a power surge that threw it out of whack.

It must have been something Marc, because words can't even explain what I found when I finally got into the controller and was able to check the program.

I just posted the program I found on the Neptune Thread . Numbers changed, symbols in the code, names changes, whole lines missing???

That controller hasn't been touched, so I have no idea what is even going on... and like just look at the light times etc... etc... 13:14? pH -28.42? Temp 91.2?

Wow.... what a mess. Something epically failed.

I just searched through my thread and found my most recent program. Cut and pasted it back into the program editor, updated the controller, and everything seems to be functioning properly now.

On a lighter note. Check out what I found down in the QT tank tonight sliding along the now bare glass bottom of the tank.

One of those large flatworms that prey on clams. Sure am glad it was in the QT tank!

Here's a video of the flatworm in the bottom of a salt bucket.

I got the first half already. I could probably google the second half, but that's no fun.

Here are some shots of the quarantine setup. I think I'm going to start doing Interceptor treatments/QT in here as well for new corals.

I guess I'm going to have to start getting some degree of separation with my equipment to prevent a total loss if the AC3 would fail... and I don't have much faith in it these days.

Thinking off hand, I can order Ranco Temp Controller for the heaters... etc.. etc... but that defeats the purpose of buying the AC3 in the first place IMO.
I have a BRAND new aqualogic heavy duty dualo stage temp controller i could sell you for a half decent price. Let me know if you are interested TJ

Well I got some more bad news. Apparently that's what my thread is good for these days. Anyway, it's regarding the Canary Wrasse. One of my Yasha Gobys has been missing for a while now. Then today I spotted my other Yasha Goby in the back corner of the tank with it's high fin ripped off. At first I was confused, but then remembered...

When I initially added the wrasse to the tank. It was swimming around the sandbed, picking off the rocks. When it suddenly darted head first into one of the Yasha Goby's burrow. I didn't think anything of it at first, and thought the wrasse may have gotten spooked... but now seeing that the other Yasha Goby is ripped up... it's looking like there is a predator in the tank... and only 1 potential culprit.

So I'm going to give the wrasse a few more weeks to see if it can help with the flatworms. If I don't see a noticeable benefit from having it in the tank... I'll be pulling it out.

Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know if I decide to head in that direction.

^^^

I lied... Right after I typed this, I went over to feed the tank, and both Yasha Gobys popped out. They both have relocated (out of sight of course), which explains why I haven't seen the one in a while. However, now they are almost on top of one another. So I'm not sure if they're trying to pair up or something, but I'm positive the damage is from some type of interaction between the two of them. Hopefully they'll get along, and I won't end up losing one in a battle.

I wish I could rely on my equipment right now, because I really need a break from my tank.

hey brotha, i never got back to ya on the vortech discussion we were having a few pages back lol... well i have tried a bunch of diff spots for the votech, and all leave me with dead spot in one corner lmao.... i did the back left and the the back right and always have a dead spot or too much sand movement lol... im going to try to put it back to where yours is and just turn the flow way down, I now wish i would have gone with 3/8" acrylic and just bought 2 mp10s lol.... oh well, maybe i will trade down to an MP20 since i cant use the full power for the mp40.

Thanks man, and the tank looks amazing bro!!

Yeah, I hear ya... I have a dead spot one of my back corners too. I keep telling myself I'm going to stick a Tunze 6025 back there, but haven't got around to it. I've thought about 2 VorTechs many times, but I think it would look a bit unsightly with one on each side (because of my dimensions and aquascape). If I added a second, I would more than likely add it on the same side.

Yeah I spoke too soon. As soon as I opened my mouth, it popped out during feeding time. So both of my Yasha's are still alive and kicking... they just relocated themselves to a new area in the tank, which is no longer easy to view.

I was thinking about the tunze on the back lower corner and bounce it off the back wall so it creates some kind of randomness.... my tank is only 2 sided viewable so the back right is not so bad of a sight for me....

hopefully you can get them to relocate again to the front.

GL Brotha.

Glad to hear that your Yasha Goby turned up. Earlier this week I had a friend stop by to install a gas line for my new BBQ and he had never seen my DT so I was showing it to him when I noticed that my female Clown was gone. My clowns were the first fish I bought when I got into this hobby almost 3 years ago and they started breeding like clock work about 6 months ago. I was hoping that she would turn up and that she was hiding in the rock work...But after five days I fear the worst and figure my CUC has taken care of any trace of her. You wanna Talk about Pi$$ed.
