With the BP`s you won`t see any in the display if you hold on to recomended dosages.
i now have 300 gr of it in 110 l system ,and don`t see any strings (in the display i don`t.... )

Hope I'm not asking too much, and I know it is still a wee bit early, but might more than one person post their NO3/PO4 readings using this product?

I also would like to see actual N/P readings!

So you're saying if you do put too much then you will see the strings...

It may be difficult for many as they were either using another method prior or in transition between two methods. I have been slowly phasing out ZEOvit system while watching parameters closely to see impacts either positive or negative. This along with other minor tank tweaking, it is still difficult for me to formulate results as would be premature even after five weeks with the N/P reactor installed. For me, my Nitrates and Phosphates have neither increased or decreased significantly to form an opinion yet and still in transition process between methods.

I suspect that is why we have not seen either negative or positive feedback about it yet.

IME no , i now have 2.5 times the amout then normal and i don`t have bacterial blooms or strings.

I had them in the past with normal Vodka dosing , not with BP

As far as the reactor goes, does it have to be in reactor? i wanted to put them in a baffle to cut back on bubbles but im not sure they would have the tumbling action. It would have some good flow though as there is about 1000gph running thru that area in the sump and plenty of O2

Isn't it odd that even the maker doesn't give solid numbers from several test tanks of N and P reduction? I don't want to sound the pessimist, but there are so many snake oils sold in the hobby; boosted skimmer output doesn't mean the product is doing what it claims its doing, and there are more than one research test done proving people tend to see results they hope to see, in this case in regards to coral colouration. At one point JP said more information would be released, data please.

i do not have the output of my NP pellets into the chamber of my skimmer i have moved it to the intake of my return pump... i have noticed a great increase of particulate matter in the water colum. my corals have crazy polyp extention. and a ton of growth has shown in the last week that i have made this change... for example my birdsnest witch is close to the size of a baseball was fragged..... no growth in 4 weeks. now every part of every frag i made has new off shoots in the last week. nothing else is changed. i have everything on a controller from lights to temp etc. the only thing i did was move the output of my reactor to the intake of my return pump.

would be interesting to do this with a solenoid on a timer with the flow going to the return pump or even directly to the display at night and during the day goes to the skimmer or to a "dark fuge"

that way you get clear water in the day for view and the photo period and food for the corals at night. when I have been diving at night there are a lot more things in the water column then during the day.

Engage Guinea Pig Mode...

My order of 500ml pellets just got here and I have added them to the original 500ml in my reactor.

Will report any visual signs of an OD.

Jon

Right now my reactor output is going to the skimmer, but after I get done trying to see if the extra 500ml I added today will create an OD, I will move my reactor output to the return pump input and see if I can re-create what you are seeing (hopefully next week).

That will be interesting!

Jon

i have moved the venturi intake of air from the skimmer from under the stand to a remote line that sucks air in from theout side. my skimmate has not changed before or after moving the discharge from the reactor. but my ph is very stable this way.

FWIW, fragging will often start a growth spurt. Some people actually cut tips of colonies to get 1 to grow more, if say 1 side is growing faster than the other or 1 or 2 branches have stalled. Cutting those stalled tips will usually start them growing good again.

Been using the bio pellets for 6 weeks. nitrates are still zero, but i seem to be losing colours in my acropora,
Po4 is still zero, but tank does seem top have more nutrients since i stopped using Fauna Marin bacterial products.

Current nitrate reading from a Salifert test performed last nite:
between 0.2 and 0.5 ppm

Observations:
No visible algae in tank.

Very good Polyp Extension on Green slimers and Montipora corals

Green slimers appear darker green as opposed to yellow green

Recent Pollutant Conditions:
3 BTA's and 7" Emperor Angel being fed heavily (i.e. cocktail shrimp left over from New Years every other day), flake and pellet food daily fed to other fish: 3 grammas, 2 4" tangs, 1 cardinal, 1 3" blue chromis, 2 clowns

Oversized skimmer produces constantly.

Just started my NP pellet test tonight.

Tank info:
Display tank - 24"x14"x12"
Sump - 28"x14"x12"
About 40G water, so using ~200 mL of pellets (how do you measure solid pellets with mL anyway).

Starting NO3/PO4 reading:
NO3: 0.25ppm
PO4: 0ppm

I am testing out the NP Biopellets to try and reduce my phosphate levels to 0.00 ppm, they are currently at 0.07 ppm according to the Hanna Phosphate Photometer and I still have hair algae growing on the overflow and on my frag rack. I added 500mL of the Biopellets in a Phosban 550 reactor powered by a Maxijet 900. The pellets look like vanilla chocolate chips and sink when placed in water. I will add 10 drops of Brightwell MB7 in front of the maxijet daily to help cultivate a bacteria population on the biopellets. I am starting with 500mL of Biopellets but in three to six months I will run a total of 1L of Biopellets.

Started Pellets Monday Jan 4th on my 90 gal display, 55 gal sump, (approx 100 gal net water volume). ATM it's in a DIY reactor made from an old humidifier water tank, but I have ordered a BRS reactor for them. BP reactor outlet is near the skimmer inlet. It is a new build with new stock.

-Current stock-
Fish: Yel tang, Royal Gramma, 2 clowns, 1 blue chromis
Corals: couple acans, some zoa's, mushrooms, candy canes, and a wack of new sps frags.

-Feeding-
daily: flakes and/or pellets for fish
occasional: seaweed for the tang, gut loaded mysis/brine shrimp for LPS.

-Water tests pre-pellets (vodka dosing / MB7 / was getting TONS of brown bacteria film on rocks & substrate)-
0 Nitrates (API / Hagen)
0 Phos (on conventional test kits, API / Hagen)

-End of week 1 (cutting Vodka in half, have stopped MB7 due to brown bacteria outbreak.)-
0 Nitrates (API / Hagen)
0 Phos (on conventional test kits, API / Hagen)

-Noticed changes-
increased polyp extention, especially in SPS.
less brown bacteria on rocks/sand bed.

I also need more CUC. Getting some today.

Doesn't the aquarium require some trace amounts of PO4 for coral growth and coloration???

I think this will be a mistake, you need to locate the source for your excess nutrients that the hair is eating.

When your goal is around 0.03 ppm and the device you're using has an error of 0.04 ppm, 0 might not be a bad goal.
