I have no clue. I bought them as a frag pack from liveaquaria.com. They were all the same color you see now. The growing tips are beautiful shades of blue and aqua, but then the coral turns to the blah coloration as it grows and stays that way.

Hello All,

I have just finished skimming through this thread and would like to throw my hat in the ring.

These are old photos and the tank looks completely different now. I’m in the process of changing my basement sump’s configuration for the umpteenth time and will get updated pics when done.

Great Thread!

Yeah, I came up with several designs for an under tank sump but then realized I had a warm air return in the corner the tank was going in. I have everything crammed in under the stairs in the basement.

I started with a multi tank setup on a galvanized lumber rack then switched to a single acrylic sump with multiple chambers. I didn’t do a very good job cementing the seams and it recently started to leak so I put in a temporary sump and am now designing/installing another multi tank setup. Whenever I see well enough, I just have to mess with it till it’s broke.

I only hope it will come out as clean looking as some I’ve seen here.

Well done on the stand... seriously it's a beautiful piece of furniture! Looking forward to your updated photos... and welcome to the club...

Can you share some photos and comment on your lighting?

Wow Esquare, that stand is really something else! I have a bedroom set that is birds-eye maple it reminds me a lot of that. Same color stain and similar finish. I love it

Hey all - here is a corner related issue that might be of interest - it involves getting flow in a corner tank:

Wow, thanks for the kind words folks. I made the stand and canopy to match the Pedestal Desk I made for my office/study.

Here are a couple of pics of the lighting, nothing fancy just an Aquactinics T5 fixture with the Neptune Lunar Sim.

I have some more pics in my gallery if anyone is interested.

Thanks Michael.

I don't know what I love the most about this hobby, the fish, the corals or the DIY....probably the DIY.

Nice rics. I have 4 that have come along very nicely till I put a Platygyra next to them and it got 1 of the rics. I can’t tell if it’s coming back or not but the Platygyra is now on the other side of the tank.

gotta love a ric garden. that green one is super bright, very nice.

and Esquare, very nice job on the stand/canopy. i love how you made the rack for your light. iv been wanting to raise mine up higher (sits on tank w/ legs) but dont want to hang it from the cieling. is there a third bar in back that i cant see? or is the corner shape enough to keep it stable?

Phish, Thanks for the kind words. No third leg, the "feet" (pvc cut in half laterally) provide the stability.

Ok, been a while since I've said anything.

First Esquare, amazing woodworking skills!!!!

So last night I picked up a modded mj900. I tried to make one in the past and it worked but it wasn't reliable and also made a ton of noise. Last night I put it in my tank.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!

The mod kits are being made and work perfectly. I'm going to be getting another one and give them a try together. Just one is pretty amazing. Haven't got much done but there's a couple monti frags and a birdsnest in the tank from the meeting last night. They look fine today.
