No I am really excited about getting mine!!!! I will be curious to see how it does on my tank since its 3 ft wide. Im not too concerned about modding it to work on the apex as long as one of the programs on the proprietary controller does the job.

Henry, how does the tank look with your other pumps running at the same time?

Steve I think I might play around with it some more but man it works! I almost do not want to mess around with it. I think you will be happily surprised like I was. The modes do what they are supposed to do. I forgot to mention that light sensor on mine was not working properly so I just took it out. Seeing the corals sway back in forth was awesome. I may order another . If this works I will have only two main pumps in my tank . I turned the other pumps off. Literaly when I had the thing on high it was stirring up stuff in the tank. I may mess around with a little later and see how running multiple pumps works.

I might be doing the same thing. If these things really work there will be an influx of Tunze and Vortech on the market. We just have to see how long they last.

does the controller remember its last setting in the event of a power failure?

I have not tried that yet but it does have a lock feature. I would guess that would save the setting to memory.

I was also thinking that you could put it on a timer via the apex and use it in conjunction with your other pumps rather than going thru the steps the others are going thru make it connect to the apex.

Henry, can you give us a better description of what the W2, W3 and Else modes are and what types of flow they create?

Steve you are right, if these are as good as they seem(maybe like the LEDs) there might be an influx of vortech or Tunze pumps for sale. Not saying is is why but there seem to be a LOT more then normal vortech threads for sale. Now these pumps do have applications where only they will work. My tank will be eurobraced so I traded my Tunze to get vortechs. but if you don't need a special set up these things could be the way to go

Steve - It appears to remember the setting if the lock mode is used. I unplugged the pump from the socket and even from the controller itself. When I waited a a few minutes and plugged it back it in it went back to W1 mode.

Steve - The pump is made cool. It reduces its flow once the light sensor detects its not bright enough. So it has a built in night mode. On my initial testing I did not have the pump in a place where the light contrast was enough to cause the sensor to work correctly. I am really impressed! This is day two of only one pump in the tank and its still stirring up stuff.

Steve - From my testing today here his a breakdown of the modes.

W1 - Wave mode where the pump completely comes to a stop and starts to create the wave.

W2 - Is not a wave mode it is a ramp up and ramp down profile.

W3 - Same thing is mode W2 but the ramping up and ramping down is a little longer.

Else - I think can be a real gem. It is random flow ramping up ramping down with varying intensity.

I still like W1 just because I look in the tank and feel like I'm in the ocean.

If there was a way to change the profiles thought the day that would be great but with what they already have its still fine.

biecacka - My tank is Euro-braced as well . I think Vortecs are cool since they make the tank look very clean and are like a status symbol. Lets face it this hobby is great to bring a friend over and say see what I have in my tank. Remember when the Australian Acans first came out if you did not have one in your tank you were not really "reefing". I think these pumps (Jebo) will be great for those looking for an affordable pump that produces great results. If they are long lasting they will fill that void that is missing in the market now. Like I mentioned I tried Vortecs as well but the noise they make after a while to me defeats the clean look especially since the wet or dry side seems to fail after a while. My single MP-10 makes more noise than 5 Tunze pumps. I all comes down to personal preference but just because a tank is euro-braced is not a reason to say it has to have Vortec pumps.

General Updates - More videos and pictures from the WP-40 testing

I turned the return pump off and WP-40 off as well. I gave the tank time to settle and then plugged the WP-40 back up. The wave it make spanned the lines below with the knob set at the second picture. The last video is is a front tank video...notice how hard the fish are swimming near the pump.

I am cutting it close on wave movement. I do not think I can increase the power any further for the wave intensity before I will be spilling water out my tank. It is going high enough that the wave goes above and below my current drains.

I shot another video or two but made the mistake of shooting it sideways...I will figure out if I can salvage the video or not.

Steve - You are going to love the pump.

I was able to rotate one of the videos that demonstrates the noise my single Vortec MP-10 makes compared to the noise of W2 mode where the WP-40 ramps up an down. The humming sound is the WP-40 which I am less than 1ft from...the grinding sound is my MP-10 which is over 8-10' away. Lucky for me I have my tank behind a wall otherwise I would go nuts from the MP-10 sound.

IMO it sounds like the mp needs to be centered more. Sounds like it is off a tiny bit.

worm5406 - It is centered. It has been making that sound for a while now. It was silent when I first did my upgrade to the the 180. It has gradually gotten worse and I have not moved the pumps since setting up the frag tank . The other one did the same thing then one day frustration set in and the wet side jumped into the trashcan .

hummm.. I mean I understand about that the vibration and all.

There was a rebuild kit or something that fixed some of them. I think older models, but I do not remember.

So what percent do you have it set at in W1 mode? I like the W1 mode and the Else mode. I think either one is kinda cool. Makes some nice waves.

Yea they have a kit for wet and dry side. I think wet was a little over 100 and dry around 50-60 bucks. I am not interested in fixing it though. That money will go towards a new pump .

Wayne - I guess buy the picture it is around 70-75 percent. So far those are my two favorite as well. I am still impressed by the wave this thing makes.

Joe - Thanks for the compliments. This tank has been running/cycled since May 2011. Most of the larger corals came over from my 90. In the next week or so I am going to do a picture recap to show the progress.

General Updates - New UV Sterilizer for Frag Tank

So my frag tank has been having some issues lately and I plan to eliminate some of the issues by adding an UV on the frag tank. I just wanted to give it a try and see if it helps. This is the unit I purchased. Its a 13w UV and should keep some of the algae at bay on the frag tank. I also ordered new UV bulbs for my main UV unit on the DT. I will post the results over the next few weeks or so.
