hmmm... got some mangroves in the 'fuge. Think they might be trapping some dirt. But they're soo cool looking!

So you have 750 watts of MH and 1280 watts of VHO? (4 72" @160 watts each for the URI's).

That's 2.8 watts/gallon just with the VHO's! Maybe you don't need the MH at all...

Dunno, there's 8 four foot URI bulbs.

If your 'fuge is dirty enough to grow mangroves - maybe you need to think about that.

yea, i was thinking 8, just typed 4.

hahah, yea, I think I'll turn the 'fuge into a settling area when I upgrade my tank in a few months. After I saw how easy it was to suck the detritus out of the main tank, there's no reason to have it getting trapped in a 'fuge.

Sorry but me not know .

Id is not my strong suit . When I buy them I say , give me that pretty purple piece over there .

The bad part is all my LFS's think I don't have a clue on how to keep them alive .

Little do they know I had Bomber to enlighten me .

Ahhh Gosh your embarrassing me !

Thanks .

The sad part is , without the calcium reactor this set up is sucking the B-Ionic down , like a wino drinking thunderbird on a hot summer night .

HAHAH, yea.
Reason I ask, was that someone gave me one of those "purple ones" too, and I can't figure out what the heck it is. The page in Borneman's book with them on it has pictures of at least three different species that look just like it...

I have a purple one too!

It's supposed to be a purple slimer, I guess that's close enough. But it has bright blue tips.

Joe, play the "I don't have a clue" thing to your advantage, works for me.

Why don't you just dose Ca chloride??

It allways back fires on me and I pay DBL .

If I dose just Ca chloride my alk would drop like a rock. With the 2-part I'm dosing 75 ml of both parts a day , and the tank is only a 58.

and there's the evil twins - front and center - as babies.

You know I'm just using baking soda and Ca chloride. But then, this is working for you and you have the feel for it. Don't change.

I'm not taking any pictures til these things get huge.
