Thanks for your help. Some of my favorite fish have been rock or shell dwelling Cichlids, so I don't need a floor show to be entertained. Thanks Mike

125 gallon tank (72"x18")
Current fish: Barred dartfish Target mandarin Pair cinnamon clowns Daimond goby Lavender tang Yellow tang Will be adding 75lbs of liverock and rearranging the aquascape so figured, if possible, it would be my only chance, or best chance to add another tang to an already established tank with two other tangs. Want to add ONE of the following: atlantic blue tang or gold rim ( powder grey) tang. Not sure 125 gallons is adequate for three tangs to be happy and healthy? If so would either work out or would one be a safer bet than the other? Thanks -Greg |

I have a 55 gallon with about a 3" deep sand bed, and 60 lbs of LR, I have a 20L sump with a Reef Octopus NWB110 and a 13 gallon fuge. For lights I have two Reefbreaders LED fixtures. My tank has cycled and my list of fish I'd like to get goes as follows: 2 Clowns, 1 Yellow Eye Kole Tang?, and 1 Green Mandarin. What do you think? I know the Tang thing scares everyone when I have a 55, but I've heard success stories. Also, what kind of clean up crew would you suggest? I plan on keeping corals also. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Steve. I just wanted to post an updated stocking list for your thoughts for a 280g FOWLR
currently in the tank: -3 blue/green chromis (I know may be down to 1 eventually but all good and as my first fish in the tank have been doing great ever since) -mated pair of black/white oscellarus -gold headed sleeper goby -magnificent fox face -blond naso -mimic tang -flame angel -xmas wrasse -exquisite wrasse -labout's wrasse (seeing some aggression issues w/him) -lineatus wrasse planned possible additions in order I am thinking - ok w/this mix: -possibly other wrasses I am considering (of course not all): - orange-back fairy - pink margin fairy - carpenter - radiant - mccosker's - linespot flasher wrasse -mated pair of bellus angels (or wattanaba) -pair of blue jaw triggers -aussie harlequin tusk -toby puffer (asking for trouble - prone to nip?) -blue face or $cribbled angel Thanks Steve! Diving with the lions seems really cool! Last edited by gsiegel; 03/07/2013 at 08:57 AM. |

I was thinking of having the following in my 120g mixed reef tank. It has a sump and will keep a refugium inside it... Nothing is setup yet. I apologize for lacking additional info... would need to know best conditions for this list and will do my best to make accommodation...
Also what would be the ideal sequence of introducing these fish? -Chromis (~7?) -Clown fish (a pair of Clarkii) -Dragon wrasse (gotta double check... How much damage can they actually do?) -Fire shrimp -starfish (3 or 4 maybe? each a different kind) -urchin (just 1 would be cool) -Fu Manchu Lion fish (probably last to introduce?)(at this point not likely or would be the only type of fish, maybe multiple lions?) -cleaning crew (probably will stay away from hermits though, Fu will just eat them) -feather dusters, anemones and various corals... I want a lot of diversity and am willing to take a long time and deal with the requirements. Well I'm a long ways off from getting any of these yet... And I realize you don't advise on predator fish, so just pretend I don't have the Fu on there... I will keep that point of view in mind... it's likely that I won't get one, or will only get lion fish... depending. Thanks for your input! Last edited by SpartaReef; 03/07/2013 at 09:12 AM. Hi there , I have a 120 60x18x26 with a 'new' mixed reef (all small frags). About an inch or more sand bed and plenty of rock hiding places.
Present fsh - two blk/wht small clowns and one small blue chromis. My bioload is very load (no nitrates) so I know I need a few more fish to help feed the sps. Our wish list: Magnificent Foxface Chevron Tang (or Kole) perl jawfish and possibly two small dark blue or red fish (any suggestions) Also, which should be added first, second, ect. I don't want to load the tank all at once and mess the balance up. Thanks! |
