I have a friend who is helping me with getting an Apex set up for my new tank and we have very different philosophies on how to run an aquarium. Our tanks are roughly the same size and he wouldn't even consider a refugium and uses lots of other chemistries, GFO, carbon filtration, carbon dosing, probio additives... I'll have a fuge that is a display and half the size of my tank, but I don't plan on running any chemicals. And we both have great looking tanks.

I've noticed that. I'm not running a sump. Just some hob stuff until my wife and I buy a new house and I'll be upgrading.

It looks like either a Zoanthid or Protopalythoa.

Like mentioned above it's probably a harmless Collonista snail, but just to be sure is the operculum flat or is it shaped like a little spike? If it's the latter then it's a Sundial snail.

Just found this weird guy. Looks like a mix between a nudibranch and a chiton. It has the rough bristly edges of a chiton, but a translucent purple slug-like flatwormy body. It also has a siphon hole like a sea hare. What is this?

Can't really tell much from that picture. Next time you see it put in a cup of tank water and take a few pics.

Does it move around or is it stationary? If it's the latter then it might be Colonial Tunicates.

It definitely doesn't move around. It's behind an acro that's causing issues with my focus so I can't get a great pic :/

It definitely looks like colonial tunicates! It's basically a purple and white version of this. Good or bad?

Most tunicates are pretty cool looking and all are good if you can keep them in your tank. Good luck.

How about a little bit more info????

Was it attached to something or moving around on it's own?
Can you tell if it's an algae or an animal?
Do you have any idea where it came from? Like a hitchhiker on some live rock, or in a new coral colony... anything?
