I think the first one definitely is a pineapple sponge, the second picture doesnt look like one but may be the start of one possibly. |

What your seeing in the second picture is a whole different type of sponge altogether.

It look to me like a small Jellyfish, possibly Cladonema family? Normally not a problem, should go away by itself. In large quantity may be a problem, but a few should not. Is your tank fairly new? In my experience, I got those in the first few month after starting a new tank. Hope that help. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Any idea on if these are "good" or "bad"?
I think they are just asterina stars, which are generally considered OK? http://i.imgur.com/PXOUbaL.jpg |

Hi All
My tank just finished cycling and I found this guy in the sump. Any idea what he is? Here's a video of the way it moves too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27PxQgai_cE |

Anyone know what this is? I found it in my overflow. It kind of pulsates and almost looks like little critters are moving on it. Should I remove it?

Pull it out and put it in a shallow bowl with some tank water and then take a couple of pics. It will get you far better results.

Regretfully, I don't have a photo yet. But I've been searching for an I.D.
I have a beautiful, huge sun coral that has a small bare spot. When originally purchased, that bare spot had a tiny spot of, what appeared to be, red coraline algae. Within weeks it has gone crazy with growth. It is red/burgundy in the daytime lights, but turns grey/Green when the dusk/dawn lights come on. Today, when I touched it to feel the texture, it changed color immediately. It's awesome, but it will consume my sun coral, I'm sure. Any help is appreciated! |

Any idea what this guy is and whether he's safe? I'm assuming it's some kind of sea slug or nudibranch.
And what about this guy? I found him in my sump but he has since disappeared, no idea where to. I haven't seen him for a few days now. Here's a video of the way it moves too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27PxQgai_cE |

Top is a harmless Elysia slug, the other is a harmless bristleworm.
