Just wanted to give some feedback on my impeller replacement. I put Reefdynamics impellers on my A250, and am very impressed. Over 20 percent more air measured on my dwyer than than the h&s did new, bubble size at least as small, and quieter. 149 each. I'm very impressed, and glad that my H&S can continue skimming far into the future. I love this skimmer!

That's good to know. I put the Deltec replacement on my A200 and it performs the same as the original H&S impeller did. I'll definately keep the Reef Dynamics in mind for the next replacement.

After 3 months of e-mails, H&S finally emailed me back on my leaking skimmer body. Its leaking where recirc pump attaches to the body of the pump. A slight drip. It was just leaking saltcreep, but now is leaking water.
I bought a SRO XP 2000 Cone to replace it while trying to fix it or get a replacement and I have to say the Super Reef Octopus is NO COMPARISON to my Beloved H&S.

By far the best skimmer on the planet. I just really hope they get there service problems corrected so they start selling there skimmers again. All these new skimmers out there with new designs IMO are still not working as well as the simple old basic design that was started by Euro Reef and Deltec. I run a cone now on the SRO and it does not skim as well as my A150.

I pray they come through. They need a rep working in the US.

No, there still there. I guess when Fins Reef closed up they lost there US support and according to H&S. Thats it, Brian was basically it.

Udo chalked up temperature to the reason for the leak at the acrylic/pvc weld. He did not want to even acknowledge responsibility on a possible defect. So They recommended a pvc cement to repair the leak and they were 100% correct. It did fix it perfectly. It was leaking like a drop every two hours....no big deal at all.

So know I can get my H&S back online.......missed that beast. Best performing skimmer IMO.

Now I have 2 really nice skimmers....guess I will keep them both, maybe sell the SRO XP2000 Cone.

Just registered in case I need them.

Hey do you have the recirc model or the in sump model H&S? Mine is the A150 recirc. I was considering running it in sump instead of external to the sump, but wondered if it running it in sump was resrtict performace in any way?

http://www.sewatec.de/protein-skimme...00-inside.html this model I have always wanted the rec model like the one you have. You can run them in the sump unless the water depth is way to high like up to the neck.

I run my A150 recirc in sump with no issues. You still have to use a feed pump or your overflow to feed the skimmer and you don't want the outlet of the skimmer submergerd too much or it will cause back pressure.

the end of the airline hose has to be above the water line.

Well I meant the part that is attached to the pump. I know there must be an open end to receive the air.

I did hear from them today, something like 48 euro and change for the impeller and the bearings, I wonder if we could piggy back a order to save on some shipping. There also might others who would also like to order, not sure.

I would but I do not have anything I need to order from them just yet. If I do though, I will get with you if you have not already ordered.

I checked last night. Where the hose attaches pump is about 1.5" - 2" below the waters surface.

So I just got my H&S back online after 4 years being out of service, and I forgot a few things. How do I lower the water level in the skimmer?

Is it that if the dots connect its at its lowest point and the further I turn the dot away from the other the water level rises?

If the pipe adjustment is a wedge pipe, then where the dot connects is at the most open point so turning it in either direction will restrict and raise the water level in the skimmer body. External model, maybe lower the input feed. Internal model, maybe raise the skimmer slightly.

Also since you are running the external version the gph going into the skimmer will also effect the water level in the skimmer body.

I am right below the bayonet on the skimmer with it wide open. Its has finally started foaming after about 24hrs. So thats good. Just needs to break back in again. I ran it in vinegar for about 4 hours before setting it up.
