Hi everyone!
I'm new to RC. I've had a sw fish tank on and off for about four years and now a friend gave me a 45g tank with some fish and corals for free. I wanna do this one right so I got on RC to see how others are setting up there tanks. My goal is to have a successfulk sps tank, let's see what happens. Iggy |

I got a ocellaris clown fish about 3 weeks ago. I put him in a 55 gallon tank with a blue devil damsel and 3 stripped damsel and a two stripped damsel, of course the blue devil gave him a hard time and he was so stressed that at one point i thought he would die but its week three and hes still alive. is he too stresses to add another clown so they can pair?

Hi everyone, my name is Erik and I thought I should stop in and say hi since I've been to RC a lot but haven't actually posted until just recently. Anyways my main tank is a 40 long (60x12.5x12.5) with an Ehiem XP3 canister filter. I am looking to replace the filter with a sump and change the current lighting over to LED since it is time to replace the bulbs and will cost close to the same price as switching to LEDs.
I also have a 55 which was given to me. It currently only has live rock and a few inverts with some HOB filters. It currently doesn't have any fish. Anyways, I hope that this site will be a good resource while trying to get my tanks to get my tanks to the point I want them to be. Erik |

I have been in the hobby for a little over a year now and just recently joined the RC forums. I have a 75gal reef tank with a 40gal breeder sump. I run a 36" AquaticLife light fixture with 4 t5 actinics and 2 150W MH, a Mag 7 return pump, and a Euroreef CS8-2 skimmer with Sedra 5000 pump. I currently have a Blue Hippo Tang, a Tominiensis Tang, a Coral Beauty, a HummaHumma Trigger, a Six-Line Wrasse, a Diadema Psuedochromis, a Blue Devil Damsel, an Engineer Goby, and two Clownfish. I also have about 15 different types of coral in my tank at the moment. Anyway, Glad to be here. |

Hi everyone, my name is Mark and I've been in the aquarist hobby since I was 12 years old. That would make about 26 years. I started with community fresh, then aggressive fresh, then saltwater fish only, then freshwater SA, then African cichlid, and then flowerhorn pair. Now I keep a 220 South American mix. I'm a regular on the MFK forums.
I have decided to go back into the marine and am currently cycling a 90 gallon soon to be reef. I'm running an old amiracle wet/dry w/ a rio1700 pumping about 352 gal/Hr. An emperor 400 HOB powerfilter. A corallife CF w/4 65w 10,000k bulbs. (Replacing as I want the blue). Currently in shipment - I will be running -a Coral vue reef octopus 110 protein skimmer -a 48-60" Marineland reef capable LED system w/ timer. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...m?pcatid=24725 -Hydor Koralia Mag 5 powerhead. water- 77 degrees 1.024 salinity 8.2 pH additional water perameters will be assessed when I get my test kits delivered shortly. I am a grizzled vet w/ fish tanks and a complete rookie w/ a reef system. I'll be taking it slowly and am very open to any advice direction or suggestions. I'm not open to sarcastic know-it-alls who try to increase their self-esteem by patronizing and belittling others. ie. comic book guy from The Simpsons. I'm a happy friendly guy who loves fish. I'm leaning towards anemones. Various crustaceans, clams and a few ref safe fish. If anyone has any feedback on my system please share as I'm looking to get it right the first time. or suggestions on hardy inverts that are both interesting and sustainable from our oceans. I do not want to buy any threatened species and kill them with my learning curve. Thanks, it''ll be great to meet you all. |

Hi
Hi folks,
I'm new to the forum. Have been an active reefer for 5 years now. Before I've always kept tropical sweet water fish (for about 20 years), but the beauty and challenge of the reeftank attracted me more and more. I'm living and working in Belgium, close to Brussels. Native Belgian citizen. But always keen to exchange ideas with hobbyists from all over the globe! So RC was the place to go next, and here I am. Have a lot to read now, so hello everyone and see you in one of the discussions! Grtz |

New to Reef Central
I've been researching allot of info on the web since setting up my tank, and it seemed that 9 out of 10 times this site was the first in line on the google search. So I've been a visitor for awhile now. Recently bought some frags off of craigslist and the guy spoke highly of this site so I thought it was time to become a member. I've been into freshwater on and off for approx 30 yrs and just recently decided to take the leak...and oh boy is it addicting. Anyway, look forward to the great reading and learning provided by all members of this site.

Brand NEW
Hello everyone. I just started this hobby. I just bought a 160 gallon tank from a friend. Tank came with everything I needed except a good filtration system. The one they have is a Marineland Penguin BIO-Wheel Power Filter (just one) . I have been to a GREAT place where I live with someone VERY knowledgeable. The set-up they had is all wrong, but I am in the process of fixing it. Just very expensive!!! I just started this hobby and I love it.

Newbie here!
Hello everyone, My name is Scott I'm 44, a licensed electrician/automation specialist with racing RC cars for another passion. I have had fresh water setups many years ago but got bored. I always wanted to do a saltwater setup but wanted a what I consider a larger setup +75g. Just recently I have purchsaed a 100g freshwater setup that I plan to convert to saltwater. I just moved my daughter to university so now this frees up room to do this setup. while we were away stopped at the local reef store and purchased a used sump container with a 3 stage/drawer filter. I thought the price was right ($80) and plan to go this route so picked it up. I still have a ton of questions and know this will be a slow but rewarding process and can't wait to start. So please be patient with my questions as I want to do this right. Feel free to PM me with any tips/info, good reads or just to say hi. Now I'm off to read and ask questions and get the area ready for my new adventure.
