Very cool! Tunicates are very hard to keep in tank. I just picked up a decorator crab that has a white & orange hard tunicate on it's back. I wonder how long it will survive and what the crab will use if the tunicate dies and goes away?

Mine are growing really fast considering everything I've always read and experienced showing how low their survivability is in the aquarium.

Take the top one out and put it in a clear container to get a few pics and post them here. The bottom one is a harmless cerith.

I can't get a picture cuz I lost the lil bugger... So maybe a good description will give you guys an idea... I think it may be an Aptaisia.. But I all my Google searching I found nothing like it.. It has bluish tentical with some white stripes.. The tenticals came out of a year drop shaped pouch that was whitish clear.. With a few organ things Inside.. When I poked it with my alge scraper stick.. It reluctantly and slowly retracted itself.. Just to come right back out.. When I captured it with my net.. It turned into a lil white ball.. So I made a lil trap to hold it.. Hoping it would open back up for a nice lil photo shoot... Welp.. Trap failed and he is somewhere among my 200 lbs of rock lol... I did get one horribly blurry picture before I lost him..
Im hoping it's some kind of worm.. Because before I found him free floating.. He lived in a hole in a rock with just his tenticals showing...
I know a picture would be best.. But any ideas are greatly appreciated.. I searched this thead as well... And it looked nothing like the Aptaisia or manajo pictures I've seen

Just noticed this little guy (sorry best picture I can get of this thing)

I *think* its a Flabellina iodinea (at least the pictures look somewhat like it). What do you think it is, and better question is it reef safe

It moves like a slug/snail, will try and get some better pictures if it comes closer/

Does anyone know what this is? LFS said it was aptasia but i havent seen any with green body/foot while googling. One employee told me to run cupramine which is a copper treatment i believe. That made the anemone? Close up, but doesnt seem to have killed it.

It doesn't look like an aiptasia I've ever seen... and I've seen a lot of aiptasia! Don't ask.

Maybe a majano anemone, or some kind of zoa?

Ok thanks ron. This is the second one ive noticed now, took the first rock out and removed it after the copper treatment, but this one is in a tough spot, considering leaving it .

If it's a majano, it's almost as bad as an aiptasia. I'd probably let it grow until you can get a good look and confirm one way or the other. But if it's a majano, you want to get rid of it as well. Can you get a view of it face on?

I don't think that tank is big enough for that. Oh sure it fits in OK now and looks happy enough. But as it grows it will just become more and more of a problem!

Hi
I'm new to this so I hope I'm posting in the right forum.
Could anyone help ID this little hitchhiker please?
He's very shy, so getting a good picture is difficult, but does appear to be getting bigger. He's been in the tank a few weeks and hasn't eaten any other livestock or corals...................yet! It is hard to see from the picture but he does look to have dark tips on his pincers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not real sure but I think it's a Ball anemone? To some they are bad and to others they are harmless. I'd let it grow if it were in my tank.

I think you're right, we had this tank up and running for a year and a half and I never saw this thing until I was taking all of the rock out to put in the new tank, this part of the rock was actually under the sand, I thought it was some sort of egg sack at first but sometimes it expands out of its hole. Now after googling ball anemone that's exactly what it is.

Pineapple sponge, common in new start up tanks, they are good filter feeders but usually go away after a small population bloom. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
