Current tank info:
56 gal 40lbs sand, 25ish lbs LR, 10-15 lbs salt safe man made decor One ocellaris clown One toby puffer One coral beauty small CUC of no more than 60 snails and one hermit crab Hoping to add some (or all if possible) of the following: Sailfin Blenny Six line wrasse or Flasher Wrasse Small group of pajama cardinals (3) and/or Kaudrens Cardinal And maybe some type of mushroom coral or polyps (I know there is a chance my puffer and angel may snack on corals, if one is less risky than others I would love to know, but if you think its not worth the risk I appreciate that opinion as well) Thank you in advance |

Thank you so much! Very helpful! Mostly my puffer leaves his finny tank mates alone, but he does harrass the snails and hermit quite a bit.
So only one type of cardinal and a pair is better than a group Flasher wrasse or six line is aggressive? And thank you for the info on mushroom corals, I like them a lot and think they will someday make a great addition to my tank. |

I am also switching the yasha goby I posted about to a YWG. I have had it for about a week now in my QT system with the gramma. Both are best friends right now hanging out and eating together. I am going to also get a tiger pistol to go with him. When should I add the tiger pistol shrimp? Right now the tank is cycled and has frogspawn, some zoos and mushrooms. Should I add the shrimp now (3 weeks before the goby will be out of QT) or wait until the goby is in the tank? I read of a guy that built a shrimp 'cage' out of rock in the front corner of his tank. He used a pipe to drop the shrimp onto that corner of the tank and the shrimp made it's home in the cage. When the goby was added he used the same pipe to direct the fish into the burrow and it moved in. Since it was right in the front they could always view the two. I have made such a cage, and I am hopeful the shrimp will move in. Thanks! |

I've had a Kole YE Tang in a 20L QT for a few days now and it's quite timid and not eating yet. Otherwise it looks healthy. I was thinking about putting a Kaudern's Cardinal in there to give him some company and maybe show him how to eat. What are your thoughts on that? The Kole is a nice size, about 3". I've also thought about a couple firefish rather than the cardinal.

I've tried algae wafers, nori, frozen mysis, flakes and pellets. Not all at once of course. He might have eaten some of the nori, it was ripped off the clip, but it was hard to tell.

55 Gallon
Hello!
I currently have a 55 gallon reef tank that has been up and running for almost two years. It's current occupants are a midas blenny and a fathead anthias. I'm looking at adding another more fish soon and thought I would get some ideas from you guys! Ideally I would like to have one more "mid sized" (I use that term loosely) fish. One that would spend some time cruising the tank and in the water column. I was thinking maybe a single clown (On the fence, I like clown personality but would be concerned that it would become too dominant as it ages) or a single wrasse. I was also think about putting a couple smaller fish, maybe gobies (I like the neon, greenbanded, and clown gobies) later on but I'm wondering if: 1. You can mix gobies 2. If my midas blenny will be compatible with smaller gobies (or small fish in general). He is the dominate fish in the tank and occasionally will chase after my anthias. I'm also thinking that adding at least one more similar sized fish to my current ones might disperse some of the attention away from the anthias and then I could add some smaller fish later. So! Do you have anymore suggestions for a single (or paired) addition first and then some small fish species that could be mixed later? Thanks!

I have 2 Occellaris Clowns, 1 Black Cap Jawfish, 1 Skunk Shrimp, 10 hermits, 1 Turbo snail. I posted a new thread asking for suggestion but thought that I'd also just go ahead and see what you guys think here.
With my current stock what do you guys think about adding 1 Purple Firefish? Would you only add 1? Thanks
