Thanks man. I had some other things in there but I lost them... I had a beautiufl 3" Morish Idol that was doing excellent and eating super aggressivly. It was in there with another 2" large angel that is just sick! Anyway, then i got a venustus and flame angel in to pair with the other venustus inthe Display and flame angel in the frag tank. these went into a 20g QT. They got one round of prazi and were doing good. then I ordered another baby large angel and a wrasse so i moved the venustus and flame angel to the 55QT with the Idol and 2" angel. The flame was pretty aggressive w/ the other fish but nothing to alarming. Then i noticed that the venustus died (number 7 for me!) Since both sets of fish had recieved a week of prazi already i added the recommended 1/2 dose of cupramine. by day 2 my wife called me at work to tell me the Idol didn't make it and a day or two later the flame angel died... So i added Carbon and pulled the cupramine because the nitrite and ammonia began to creep up...

So, I think I lost the Idol due to copper but i wasn't going to risk my other fish for the idol no being medicated. I know they dont do well w/ meds but i wasn't going ot risk it.

Anyway, I had the carbon in there for a few days then started the cupramine on the 2" large angel that i still have... Good thing is the other baby large angel and wrasse are still doing good!

And i think im gonna add a pair of true hawaiian flame angels instead of the flame that i currently have in my frag tank!

Oh, and i got some SPS colonies from Divers Den the other day and im pretty excited to see them color up. One is a multicolored tenuis, and anothe is sick light blue hoke! AND i got a sprial coral! Im not sure how to care for it but im pretty excited about it! Im hoping the concoction of foods i feed nightly will suffice!

That is for sure, and that doesn't include the rediculously crazy last month...

My dad was in the hospital the same time as my pregnant wife last month. 20 minutes before my son was born, I heard the hospital call a code Blue on my dad a few floors above my wife. I barely made it back to my wifes room to see my son born who wasn't breathing or moving and ended up in the NICU for a week! And that isn't even all of it! Friggin Crazy month and its not over... Oh, and 2 hours after that i came home to eat only to find 20 gallon on the floor from the tank!

Yeah, I saw the Conspic taking BITES out of one of my big sps colonies but with all the angels in there I havn't seen any real harm done... He is very worth it!

I am sorry to hear that Ryan
I thought I am having a bad month but nothing compare to yours
Because the health of the loved ones or yourself is more important than anything else.Hopefully your dad and new born son is ok now.
I work in Nicu for years and my wife still works there , the technology change so much in the past few years I am sure he will be ok!

great video, thanks for sharing. might I ask how big the orange shoulder and naso tang are? they look to be on the larger side, but I may be suffering from lack of perspective.

Thank you very much Philip!

It is something i wanted ever since i got into the hobby 7 years ago. It will be One year old on September 30th. It has made a ton of progress and in the next few years it will continue to develop if I can keep up on the maintenance!

Thanks!

They are both around 6" maybe a little more. The Orange shoulder, Blond Naso and Conspic are all around the same size but dont show any real aggresion!

There are a decent amount of fish in there but there is very little rock for that size tank. There is around 6" behind and around 8" in front of the rock plus quite a bit of open space in the rockwork itself!

Yeah, the aquascaping looks great. I just ordered a 72"x36" footprint tank, and I'm hoping to get away with a few of the same fish, hence my interest.

Sweet! That will be nice but i would be cautious in a 72" tank. Once they start growing, an 8' tank is really necessary!

Sorry to hear about the conspic eating the corals, thats no bueno I remembering standing with Tim in front of his tank when his regal was ripping out polyps. His corals did not repond too well to that.

Ryan, do you think all of your QT loss may be due to overmedicating? I just started my tank over and I do plan to treat my new fish but all of the fish you've lost in the process concerns me...

No I don't think so. I'm very happy with my qt procedures. I think I know what has happened to every fish I've lost. Well for the most part...the venustus are very very difficult and I lost a few in one qt that had some bacterial issues and I have shut it down now. The idol never does well w any meds and I had some ammonia/nitrite issues in that qt which is why the flame angel died.

I will definitly continue to qt as all my fish that had come out have been rock solid...oh and I almost lost my conspic to a bacterial infection. It was bleeding through its side but w some myracyn it healed!

So, I highly recommend qt as it has definitly saved me and gives the fish time to settle and put some weight on, and many of the fish that don't make it from the meds die because the meds are killing the parasites they have!
