I will take some pics, I have red cyano now to mosty on bottom, but also on corals that have "died" or bleached.

I had a superman monti and a peach monti died in 2 days, got a sunset monti and a rainbow monti put them on bottom of tank and have been good for a week.

I had a nice emerlad green encrusting sps was doing so well and its dying off, Ive got a green Mili that started losing tissue but has since stopped and strted to come back.

I also put a grounding probe in my tank, I also forgot to mention I am using carbon and gfo phosphate remover in a next reef MR1 Monster.

Tanks is 190 Gallon with 60 Gallon sump, Had a favia even die. I just keep wanting not to blame the light, but I think its the light?

My Monti plates are growing really fast with the illumina, its the first one not the 260. What I found is half power is plenty for white and 60 for both blues. I've been using for several months now and only just built up to that level.
I can post pics if anyone wants?

My Brother took most of the pics and tarted them up with photoshop, so the colours might be off a little from true, but the point is these lights work and work well. But I believe that most people panic when the corals sulk at first and make the mistake of turning them up.
I started on 30 white and 40 both blues and thats not on the 260.

It seams that the people with great success using LEDs all seem to have optics. Lets hope that the Vertex proves otherwise,

Hagarthefish,
Thanks for the pics. I'm really basing this on all the research and experience that I've seen, I hope that I'll be able to keep SPS and have them thrive under my 260 like I did when i had a Giesemann infiniti.

Rob

Great looking tank m8.
How long did you take to build up to this light level? Mine wouldn't like that strength, but I do have alot of soft corals.
I do believe alot of people have probs with led's due to too much too soon, but once used to the light they work well.
Nothing is black and white in reefkeeping, what works for one does not always work for another and light is just one of the many factors.

I have my 200 model peaking at 95% on my ritteri tank. Slowly increased levels over a 4-5 month period to reach this point. Light is about 4" above the water

Nice secesh!

I did the same by ramping up to get here though I play with my settings to test for different things. In the end it took a few months to ramp up to this level. I pulled down my old tank to build this one and got rid of all my colonies to start from frags again except for my birdsnest and blue stag. I overdosed k balance on my tank a few weeks ago so lost color and some frags but tank is recovering nicely again now Will try some violet colors too soon hopefully will post results of how these go.

guys , how much past the end of the fixtures can the lights support properly? if the tank is 96 inches will the 6 ft fixture cover the ends with no visual degradation?

also if you use 2 fixtures..are they networked / aware of each other??
