James, very nice tank. I'm using Oceanic in a new tank (month old) and have calcium over 500 using Salifert test. How did you get yours down to 400? I don't have any SPS frags yet but your tank is making me want to get started very soon. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Thanks everyone. Generally, bumping up the alkalinity to where it should be is the easiest way to get the calcium down. There's a point where they balance out.

The other way to get the calcium down is to put in more stony corals

I'll be fragging to the loyal reefmonkey crowd when they grow in a little more...

I actually began my assault on the flatworms today - which involved a quick sucking regieme with a canister filter. I figure I got about 5000 of them. Do that 2x more and I'll be ready for FWE.

in the process, I made a few accidental frags - including 2 tyree solis... I'll let them grow in a bit and offer them up to the monkeys.

I'm hoping to have all of the flatties gone by the end of the weekend.

I'll be sure and post a couple pics.

Wow!

I have no idea how much time I just lost... however it was well worth it, just don't tell the boss

Simply fantastic. I am relatively new, and learning all the time. I am certainly envious of your skill and your tank

Thanks for sharing!

Rich

You know you are addicted when...

It is almost midinight. I just came in from trying to work out the details of plumbing my new to me 90 Gallon tank. I have bits of pvc and pieces parts and fittings all over the living room floor. Somehow, with all the extra parts I bought I seem to have come up short on two 90 degree elbows. And I still haven't figured out the best location for plumbing in the UV Sterilizer either. Argh!!!

But no, thats not the addiction... instead of going to bed like a sane person what do I do?

I head to Reef Central to see if there are new posts on my favorite threads...

Keep up the great work, and most importantly keep up the great pictures. Perhaps at some point I'll post my feeble attempts at tank setup here...

Rich
