Looking for help in ID'ing this guy.
This guy came from from an order of TBS live rock, placed in my tank at the end of October and came out in the past 2 weeks. Appears like some sort of anemone but I could be wrong. It is about Pea size, mostly clear/white , with feathery/branching arms. Its currently living under a rock ledge and appears to be a filter feeder as it will randomly bring in 1 of its arms to feed the center mouth. IMG_0209 by E, on Flickr Thanks! -Eric |

Thanks! that would have been my last guess as I thought those kinds of things were more mobile. Any idea if they are reef friendly or if I should try to get rid of it?

Nah. Good guys. Here's an article on sea apples, a type of water filtering cucumber. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2003/3/inverts

Hi All,
Recently I was fighting with cirolanid isopods. Since I'm monitoring situation closely after recent water change I have spotted little white critters. Definitely look like pods and their beloved place was a sponge of skimmer which I removed freaking out not to allow pods overtake my tank. White critters stick to the glass and appears fish (Two clowns) go crazy about them. I have taken few macro pictures + zoom in mspaint as normally they are just white dots. Some critters are of more triangular shape towards the head others appear to have something attached to them towards the bottom. I'd love to believe these are copepods but all pictures I've seen them on appear more "round-ish" towards the head. I suspect even though they stay together maybe there's more than one species? It's a nano, parameters are in check, 33.7ppt, 26C, 8.26ph, NH3 0, NO2 0, NO3 1, PO4 < 0.03. I run skimmer (Reef Octopus HOB) and small Aqua Medic reactor 50/50 with Carbon and PO4 remover. |

Looks like pods to me.
P.s put that thermometer in your sump. Those type break fairly easy in my experience. Only took one to break for me to get a probe or one made not of glass. Think Fish got angry or territorial and broke mine. Sent from my LG-LS997 using Tapatalk |

Had apex temp probe installed just few days ago so I was cross checking temps next to it for calibration. It's a nano so no sump but I'll remove it or replace with something electronic.
So $1M question, which pod is it? Good or bad? If it's bad then the tank is full of them... |

Looking to ID this little critter. Not sure what it is, but after looking it up and trying to figure it out, it looks like an isopod of the harmless kind, but I really don't know. Tank's been up for a little over 2 months only. It showed up after lights had turned off and I was looking around with a flashlight. It popped up just below where my Tuxedo Urchin was currently hanging out.
Would be nice to have "good-pods", but I want to be sure As this is the first critter I have spotted that I haven't introduced myself, it would be nice to know exactly what it is Any ideas? |
