looking good Nuxx… Love that shimmer… do you have a lot of turbulence at the water surface ?

I found rather quickly that these lights are very blue compared to the PC lights I had. I don't really find any need to turn the color down to the actinic side. I am sure it would look cool for pictures and stuff but I am not sure how well the animals like it.

Thanks!

Also each side has (2) WP40s and (1) WP60 pointed towards the center of the tank on random flow, so makes a bit of a turbulent environment.

I just joined the club as I just received my A160WE.
I have a 40 gallon breeder and will only be keeping soft corals. Being a professional artist, I am wanting to create a living work of art with my tank so I am wanting the light and shadows, so 100% complete coverage from one end to the other is not my goal. I see them over the tanks where I work and have been wanting one for a long time.

I'm thinking of adding T5 set up to the three 360's and removing the maxspect razors. I love the look of the kessil - t5 combo and people seem to be having great success.
Any reservations to this? I am under canopy so will heat be a problem if I went 4 48" bulbs about 9" off the water? |

Below is a pic with three 24" LED strip lights (one daylight, two actinics). They are gone and will be replaced with the Kessil. The reason I went with 24" as opposed to 36" is I wanted the light to taper off at the ends of the tank and even at that I feel there is too much at the ends. Thus the reason for wanting only one A160WE. I'll just have to play around with height placement of it. I know I'm probably going against the norm, but I don't want the whole tank flooded with light and actually want shadowing going on. It'll be all soft corals anyway, and I'm more interested in making it a living work of art than a full blown display trying to pack as many corals in it as I can. I'll post a pic with it lit by the A160WE for comparison when I have a chance.

I should have some pics of my tank under the new lights later today. I took some yesterday before the lighting setup was finalized but they look like crap.

Sorry for the poor pic, and I literally just set the light on my old strip light tray, plugged it in and took the pic. No adjustment to the light was done.
It is sitting about 3" above the water. When I held it up to about the height of the top of my canopy (where it will be mounted...roughly 11" above water) it covers the entire tank side to side, but the corners are shaded, which is exactly how I want it to be. I can't believe this much light comes from this little light that is smaller than a soda can.

Nice pics! Nice lights too. I'm having a real hard time photographing mine...but my camera is pretty old and cheap. Spent too much on reef stuff instead of on camera gear.

Just got my Kessil A360WE last night with the Gooseneck. I am waiting for the 90 Degree adapter to be delivered in a few days (may get creative until then) and the Spectral Controller should be in as well. Unfortunately the clamp is to narrow for my aquarium so I have to get creative with mounting it to the studs in my wall behjnd my aquarium.

trying to decide whether or not to put (3) A360We's on a 6' frag tank that is only 12' deep. I know that I am going Kessil, but do you think maybe the A160We is a better light to go with, I have recently had that fixture. For all the Kessil Pro's here......
