I did see that on the hitch hiker link, but wasn't sure and it doesn't give any specifics on it. It does say that it's not bad thing - but what is it? Is it an algae, a coral, a worm......? And will it go away as my tank ages or continue to grow? My tank is about8mosold- converted to reef from FOWLR that was 5yrs old

Hundreds if these in my sand bed. My thought is a cirratuli worm but can someone confirm?

Terbellid worms or cirratulid, harmless and beneficial.

What type of coral is this? Looked like montipora but it's not. And yeah I know about the algae it's being dealt with. Lol

Rock Hitchhiker
Howdy folks! New here, mostly new to marine aquarium keeping, and wholly new to whatever this is on my rock.
The pics kind of suck, as the thing is tiny. I see white/blue points on the tips of one, and it is definitely motile. This is a 10-gal tank of just hermits; I was neither ready not expecting to deal with anything delicate or precious, especially in this small a system. There may also be two of said things, but I can't see enough to tell if it's attached together or not. What is it, and will it be okay for a few months while I cycle a larger tank? I can grab liquid food as well if it's needed. |

Been watching this guy slowly grow since coming in on my live rock back in October (From TBS) however I haven't been able to identify it. Believe it is some sort of LPS, thoughts?
Then I also found this guy crawling on the glass this morning. Could be some sort of nudibranch but resembled closer to a shell less limpet, about the size of a nickel. Any thoughts? |

Cup coral, usually called. You'll usually get a few on FL rock.
If it looks like a limpet with no she'll, then that's a kind of limpet that has flesh covering most of the shell. I think most of those kind are not trusted. But I'm not 100%. |

White worm?.
I noticed a white long tentacle/worm coming out of a hole in my live rock. I’m not sure what it is. Any ideas?
I tried posting a picture but it keeps giving me an error. |

Worm?
Found another hitchhiker (or several, couldn't tell if I was looking at two ends of one or just two). Looks like some kind of worm, popped out to pull a mysis shrimp into the algae and vanished.

Hi, this is my first post so I don't know if this is even the right spot but anyway, I've been in the reef keeping for about 3 years now and I'm finally getting another tank started. It's a diy 29 with a 5 sump that fits in my dorm room. So I'm starting out fresh with dead rock and a few pieces of LR from an LFS that I know has good stuff. So it's been about 2.5 weeks and I noticed something growing on the glass, I've search a lot on this forum and on the internet and can't figure out what it is... Any ideas??
