It looks kind of like Briareum IMO. (star polyps) An encrusting Gorgonian is another possibility too though.

Well if it's not wiggling around it's most likely a feather duster or perhaps a Vermetid snail.

Could be a peanut worm but honestly the picture is pretty rough. Try to get a clearer picture.

Just saw a small white worm on our live rock. Then it went into a small hole and hid, definetely doesn't look like a bristle worm. Can anyone tell me what this might be ? Super worried. Not sure if you can see it but it's in between the chalice and frog spawn

Anyone have a guess what this might be? About the size of a pencil eraser. Think it's been there for a few weeks now, hasn't really grown or moved. Looks kind of like if a flat worm grew tiny 'nem tentacles.

It's about a 1/2 inch from top to bottom and roams the tank moving like a slug

Hey guys! Just two things to identify! I think the first are hydroid jellyfish? They're all over the glass, and I know I've seen a small worm that may be a bristleworm, looked like a tiny millipede with long legs but when I dimmed lights to acclimate something today I saw this coming out of one hole, brittle seastar? Thanks for the input.

Yep, they will usually find a hole in the rock with plenty of flow and will catch food as it drifts by.

In case you haven't found an answer, that looks a lot like the little polyps in my tank. I decided they're "Strawberry Anemones". There are good pics of them on Google.

Hard to really tell much from those pictures, but the thing in the center of the picture looks like sponge to me. If I'm obviously wrong somebody chime in!

Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad.
Interesting snail here. Does not appear to have a shell and when extended is almost half an inch long.
Any ideas? EDIT - I believe it is a Stomatella Snail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by mickeyfish; 11/04/2018 at 10:04 PM. |
