Oh. Why is it bad? I went to a fish store, (that had a good rep btw) and they told me I should put some damsels in it to help with the cycling process. Dang, now I feel dumb. Did I get dooped for being a new guy? Crap! I wasted money didn't I?
Now what should I do?

sorry if i seemed nasty pal, not my intention, sticking 10 damsels in was a bad move buddy to be honest, your lfs is very bad for telling you to do that,id suggest you take them back, let the tank cycle naturally, some reefers do use damsels, im personally against it, but 1 or 2 if they do not 10,be very wary of them in future, ask here on rc before your next intended livestock purchase, we will be happy to help, dont be impressed with them they are trying to make the banks happy by getting turnover through their account. we all make mistakes no worries there but see if you can take them back, or at least 8 of them

Don't feel bad, the neat thing about this hobby is there are many different ways to approach things. I agree with Michael though, Damsels can get aggressive and be hard to remove from the tank.

I really like your tank, 100 gallons is a nice size. I'm limited with what I can do as I only have a 54.

I had 2 Damsels and they were quite possibly the meanest fish I had seen to date. They were a PIA to get out of the tank as well. I had to remove 90% of the rock structure.

I still have the first damsel I ever placed in my current tank, now years later. It is a Yellow-tailed Blue damsel. I've had the experience of trying to remove a couple of demon-spawn Domino damsels from a previous tank, so I know how nasty they can be. I don't have any problem with starting the cycle with a well-cared-for damsel, but 10 is certainly overkill.

well ive just stripped my top layers of figi rock out and moved the leathers down a couple of inches, moved the brain and the trumpet, and put the figi back in, its slightly different than before the rock layout that is, obviously the tank looks completely different, im off on vacation 2 weeks today for 8 days and when i get back im going to add 3-4 acorporas on top of the reef wall, this is why im moving stuff about, im hoping the next 3 weeks or so things will settle before the new arrivals, at the moment the tanks too cloudy to take a photo, but maybe tommorrow, ive just whacked a load of carbon in the sump to counter act against chemicals the softies will have released whilst i was moving them, hope it looks ok this time tommorrow, hope ive done the right thing, time will tell, might be knocking at sk8rs door later otherwise for help, lol

Nice shots. I have to admit I've been less than good on posting any updated shots.. I have some new corals and some clams, and the new aquascape... tisk tisk...

Can I get a closeup of those new acros?

I ordered a mp40w today so I should have it early next week. I'll let you guys know how it works out in a corner tank.

Im thinking about upgrading the pfo pendant I have right now to a better one with better spread. Any recommendations?

Also I need to pull the seios out next week but one of them has a rbta attached to it. Its been there for over a year so any ideas on removing it.

I ordered a pair of MP40's for the tank.. which are slated to arrive tomorrow... I have to move my tank from teh wall a 1/2 inch (YUCK) and am waiting on my reef-er buddy to come give a hand... hope to have the two of them flowing like crazyors by Monday.

Oh, I went with two, for even more random flow and, I want to run them at 50% power cause I heard they are quiter... also when I really want to BLAST the tank, or when acros get fully grown in, I can just up the power and get about 6500gph flow (65x turnover) I shiver just thinking about it...

Good thing the pumps have a feeding mode.. i'd like to see the fish try to get the mysis in that whirl-wind.

Hello,

I am in the process of setting up my 54 corner tank. Right now the tank is located at my parents house until the room in my house is completed.

Does anyone know what the overall height is inside the stock All Glass cabinet's. I think it was 24 inches but I can't remember.

I am looking into what skimmer to buy for my sump and I need to know the overall height I can work with.

Thanks for your help, and saving me a trip to get the measurement.
