Around how much did they cost you. I ended up right around $200 total , for the 3way timer and optics .

Tank looks great cant wait to get mine. Tracy was helpful from twilight I sent here around 50 emails over a month time, she even called me a couple times, lol

I paid around $400 for the pair with shipping. I still get emails from Lyn every now and then, he has been very helpful. They are working on a couple new fixtures. One of them is an upgrade to the auto dimmer unit that you will be able to program through your smartphone.

Did they jack up the price of these? I saw people getting quotes around $250.

Nope, I paid around $400 for the pair, $200~$250 each. Yes the new fixture is from Twilight.

looks great mlott132 can you post your led layout? I'm planning to order from Evergrow but I didn't like their new layout having 51 leds which is now 24:24:3 white:blue:moon instead of the older layout which is 55 leds.

I have also talked to lyn but I'm still waiting for both replies evergrow and twilight while deciding on my led layout.

I have bought a led fixture from different company 2 months ago it's also a china led light with 4 red, 4 green, 4 RB, 24 Blue, 19 whites (12k)but I didn't like when both lights are dimmed to 100% it looks more of a natural sunlight.

Yep. The leds have ICs in them to prevent an entire string from blowing. If you want to change out a led, it is easy. I've done it a few times to change colors already.

bhazard, so just to clarify, both the d120 and the nova have the option to open up and change led's if needed/wanted? if this is the case, what would be the main upgrade from going with the nova vs the d120? and im referring the the non-controller units. d120 vs normal nova unit?

oh yeah, what do you think of the color layout/ratio of the reefbreeders units? they have a d120 and 40 breeder(looks to be the nova A6) with RGB colors.

The difference between the d120 and Nova is that the Nova has an aluminum heatsink in it. You can change either one's leds at any time. They must be similar bridgelux/epistar leds.

The Reefbreeders layout is good, although I prefer mixing in neutral and warm whites in along with cool whites.

do you feel that the nova unit is worth the $100 dollar price increase? i could afford either, but im trying to see if it is worth it?

I've been following the conversation for a while and have decided to go with 3 D120s. Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge with LEDs, it is greatly appreciated.

I'm going to put the D120s over my 180 thats 72x24x24. I don't have a high canopy so i'm most likely going to cut away three holes for them and set them on top, or maybe do a hanging kit and rip the top off the canopy, whichever is best, haha.

I think 90 degree optics might still be the best way to go unless you think I'd be better served going a different route?

Finally, the layout... I've been seeing this "Enjoy" Evergrow DIY layout that has greens, reds, and violets and I like this one but I'm not sure its the way to go. My tank is going to be set up with mainly softies, LPS and Clams, but I'd like to do SPS in the future when I become more adept at reef keeping If you could confirm that this is a good call, or suggest a better way to go it would be much appreciated!

What size is your tank. Do you think I would need 3 for a 220g? Do you know if anyone has gotten par readings from leds like yours? Where did you get your leds? Thanks.

I have a standard 75 gallon tank. How wide is your 220? I know that bhazard did par readings with his new light but it is a different manufacturer. I went with the Twilight three dimmer grid layout lights that have the built-in automatic dimmer controller.

My 220 is 72"x24"x30" high. Do you get the twiligh From ebay? What lights did you have before your twilight? Your new lights look brighter. Are you happy with the new setup?

Bhazard, I am getting ready to order an IT2040. Could you please help me with a color layout for the new design that would be good to grow LPS, and SPS corals. With the red, greens, violet And orange. I have been reading, and was ready to order and then they changed layouts, and I am back to square one. They are telling me now I can order now and it will take 10 days for production.

I would say that you would be fine with three fixtures, but I am sure others that have similar size tanks as yours will chime in. I got mine straight from Twilight. If you want I can PM you Lyn's contact information? My old light fixture was a 48 inch skyled that I purchased through truaqua. It has three colors white, blue, and red that were controlled through separate switches. They were only on/off no dimming function. They were fine when my tank was a FOWLR but once I started to add a couple corals I decided an upgrade was needed. So far I am very happy with my new lights, still working my event times to get the colors as I want.

I have ordered a total of 4 from Lyn with a custom layout with 90 degree optics for a 60x36x27

I have been dealing with Tracy and she seems to be very patient and friendly. What layout did you select? I am worried the 20,000 K whites will be too blue.
