Hiya! I was recently hired at Petco as an aquatic specialist. As I am pretty familiar with freshwater I haven't a clue with salt water tanks. Hoping to poke around and educate myself so my customers don't suffer from lack of knowledge. Any and all tidbits are welcome! My main area of experience is in reptiles and amphibians. That's really all there is to me. Cheers!

Tank Flow
have a 55g FOWLR tank and I want to get the flow right. Any suggestions for what to use to accomplish this. Would this be possible with a single mp10? What are some options?

Hi ALL!! I have been a member here since 2005. Sadly, I have not spent any time here. Not enough hours in the day. My intentions are to be more involved, meet many reefers. Many local reefers bailed when the economy took a dump. I have managed to hang through it all. Nine years and still loving it. I am in Sarasota,Fl. Love the sticks, zoas, and chalices. Just thought since I haven't been on here in so long, this would be a great place to start. Thanks for reading! Pat (Patrick)

New :)
Hi there I'm new to all of this and I understand the hard work and time you have to put into building up your own marine tank and I'm really excited and determined to do it as I've been wanting to upgrade to salt water from fresh water , I'm interested in getting a TL - 550 nano reef to build up and make my own. Any tips on this?

Hi all, I’m new to the Forum but not to the hobby. I have been in the hobby for three years already. I’m more than happy that I found this forum. It will give me the opportunity to gain more knowledge. Thank you for let me be part of this big family. I have a 72 G bowl front (I love it) and also a 12 G nano cube. I will upload pictures later.

New to saltwater aquariums, recent biology grad and freelance photographer. I've been a lurker on the forums for a while, but recently acquired a 55 gal so I figured it was time to make an account. I'm an ocean person transplanted into the mountains, so I wanted to have a little slice of the great blue yonder here at home! My tank is dry for now to avoid rash decision-making and moments of weakness in the LFS....gathering as much knowledge as I can before I begin.

Just joined RC. Also just started in this great hobby of aquaria a few months ago. Still building a 55 gal long reef tank (with cabinet and canopy) with a 10 gal sump. So far, have two 120W white/blue dimmable LED fixtures that I installed in the canopy, a Coralife 125G Super Skimmer, an MD5 return pump (came with the used tank), and a small APC UPS as a power backup (anyone living in Florida will know why). As a newbie, I am still in the learning process, so I will be asking a lot of questions as I go along.

I just started up the hobby with a 28NC last October! Definitely still feel like a beginner, and I finally decided to register for the website as I've definitely learned a lot from it throughout the last several months. I'm thinking that when I get home from work today I'll start up a thread about my tank and gather some help/advice/feedback from everyone here. :]

Hey everyone,
I've already been posting. I suppose I should have introduced myself first. Started out 3 years ago with Bettas, worked my way up to Cichlids for about a year and a half. Started my 29G regular reef about 3 months ago. I'm so new to SW it's not even funny. There is so much wonderful information on this forum. I look forward to picking the brains of many of you whom have paved the way for us newbs. Thanks in advance for your patience, Brian |

Hey
Hey, my name is Joshua, I'm in the planning stage of my soon to be 75 gal reef tank, I'm still way off but can't wait. I've had FW for a while now and I like it, but it's just not the same.

Hi all,
My name is DeeAnn. I've been lurking here for a couple months and thought I should probably introduce myself... finally. I'm a super newbie, in the process of setting up my first sw tank. I want to start a build journal to keep me busy while cycling. I'm not a patient person, and I think cycling is going to really try my patience. |
