@Ted
Thank you for your feed back - I really appreciate it. Ii will forward your opinion to our R&D! Actually we did some improvements regarding used glue in critical points(used glue in bubbles not indicate rush job - we used in the past strongly hygroscopic glues which during evaporation made some bubbles on joint points). Of course, after everything we test reactors against any leakages - but from aesthetically point of view - it will be better if it will not be visible(they are on areas not visible in normal use and they mostly affect biggest reactors which we are manufacturing - AC4 - we got two reports about them - from Richard - wishntoboutside - and yours). But that small changes not affect overall construction - we not plan to change mixing /media chamber design like diameter, used pump etc or in controller pump. About keyholes - in AC4 there is a lot of screws(due column diameter - 300mm!) but overall we didn't had any special complains about that - maybe about screws shape(we will put additional set of hex screws inside - btw we was sending them if anybody requested it previously also). Im using several AC3 reactors and of course - during lid replace/unmount it take a little time to assembly lid properly - but removing all screws make it much longer. I know that you had to fix mixing chamber (plate position) but after first time setup/assembly it's not needed to unmount / reassembly it again until you will not add some used media to your reactor(a specially if you are using latest firmware which allow you to degassing/refill reactor with removing any lids. But of course - as I said, I will send your opinion to our designers - that kind of feedback allow us make this products even better so THANK YOU again :-) Regards Przemek |

thats discount offered by Salty Supply wasn't agreed by us and it's not allowed
(it broke our terms/regulations between PS and USA Distributor) Regards Przemek[/QUOTE] Please don't remove them from distribution. They have been nothing but helpful for me. All Pacific sun products I own came from them with exception of Calcfeeder I purchased directly from Pacific Sun because I couldn't wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There is normal reset button - you need to go into menu then push Reset button and firmware update will start.
We will not remove Salty Supply from Distribution but that kind of activity(like specials, discounts etc) should be agreed with us. |

Went thru this entire thread yesterday . . . what a saga!!
Przemek, you have done an excellent job providing service and information. Great thread and very interesting product. I know you have addressed that the CalcFeeder Controller will work with any reactor. My question is, does the optical eye/solenoid work with any other reactor or is it only on the AC units? has anyone modded use one on another brand?? thanks, keep up the great work. |

I will say that ever since I started shutting off the main circulation pump every morning to force degassing, it has been operating great and providing stable ALK.
How often are we to replace the tubing? Any other maintenance on the dosing pump needed?

Hello Hippie,
Good to hear that it's working great for you but can you tell me - why are you shutting pump every morning. Have you installed newest firmware which include degassing mode without turning off main circulation pump? About tubing replace - we expect that it should stay about 1 year or longer(Pharmed have about 2000h lifetime however it depend from many factors - it can be 1500 or even 4000h). If you will experience any troubles with high pH in effluent or any leakage - it mean that tubing need to be replaced. From maintenance - we suggest using lubricant on tubing every 3-6 months(it could be vaseline for example). Regards Przemek |

Where do we get tubing? Do we reuse the tubing connectors?

But can you tell me why you need to degassing it every day?
Something is not ok if you need to do it so often. You can get tubing from us (with additional connectors) or simply use any other compatible with that pump - please contact with service directly. |

You need to contact with our service directly - Im sure that they will find a source of that problem. Maybe reactor is sucking air from outside, or there is something wrong with tubing. Usually degassing in actual mode is often enough however we reported to IT request for adjusting it manually - like every day, two times per week, every week.
I promise to keep you updated. |

has anyone ever thought of drilling a hole in the top of the media chamber and putting a ph probe port there for measuring what the ph of the chamber is? seems like you could do that and then hook it up to your apex for easier monitoring/resetting of pumps and all for those of you that are having problems.

In new CalcFeeder lids there is a pH probe port - but its only for persons who want to "monitor" pH in theirs reactors - not for control it by CalcFeeder controller.
Controller font need to read pH and on actual firmware revision(with degassing etc) it should work without any troubles. If anybody haven't it upgraded - we strongly advice, our support can do that remotely for you if you are not sure how it should be done. |

I'll be drilling a hole in my degassing chamber this weekend for a pH port. Do you recommend Media chamber instead?

id say media chamber so you know if the ph in the chamber is where it needs to be for "dissolving" the media, the degassing chamber will have a higher (hopefully closer to that of ur tank water) Ph due to the degassing effect.

If you want drill it - do it in Media Chamber - not mixing chamber, cause there is a lot of CO2 and water. You will get false readings.
