Yeah, gcarroll, although he hasn't posted in this particular thread ever since it became clear that Vertex [insert your words here].

He posted a lot in this thread before - saying that he was friends with the "owner" of Vertex and even had dinner with him, etc.

Vertex is done and so is Jason. People got burned. I am not sure why you want to rub salt in everyone's wounds unless you are trying to boost the ego behind the screen.
Jason has not responded to Greg and seems like that they have parted ways. I have heard other rumors of Jason but I will keep these to myself as they are no longer relevant as Vertex has closed.

For me my Gen 1 became unstable and unreliable so I dont know how much I would trust it. I have a Gen2 still in the box and hate the idea of throwing it away but im not sure what could be done with it

Don't throw it away, I am willing to buy it for a few bucks.
Do you have the SD card with the firmware on it. I hear that they can easily lose all of their memory and become a brick, so you need that SD card to reload the firmware. If your interested let me know.

I would also advise people not to throw them. I would be interested in buying one gen2 as well as any of their lights.
I haven't had time to go too deep into them but it looks to me it's mostly software issue. It's android OS so it could be fixed.
