I currently have a 29 gallon tank with:
1 Green Clown Goby
1 Firefish
1 6 Line Wrasse
1 Rods Onyx Clown
1 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
2 Peppermint Shrimp
15 Snails

I am looking to add
1 Mate for the clown
1 Royal Gramma
1 Mandarin Goby
1 (another goby, cardinal, or blennie)

What do you think of the compatibility of these?

15 Snails

I am looking to add
1 Mate for the clown same species, very small
1 Royal Gramma may not be possible with the six line
1 Mandarin Goby definitely not compatible with a six line wrasse and tank is too small in any case
1 (another goby, cardinal, or blennie) depends on species

What do you think of the compatibility of these?

Am I maxed out?

The crab is a Emerald Crab (Mithraculus sculptus). Didn't mean to forget to include.

All are in harmony at the point. Is it possible to add a Royal Gramma? I will leave out the hawkfish. Or do you have other suggestions?

Is it advisable to sell the 3rd Kaudern's Cardinal - Banggai (Pterapogon kauderni) and 3 Blue/Green Reef Chromis (Chromis viridis) to my LFS? Or should I let "nature" take its course so the most healthy survive?

The Longnose Hawkfish is around 2 1/2 inches now. Will the shrimp be dinner when the Longnose Hawkfish is mature or should I make arrangements now to sell to LFS?

Again thank you!

Why would a 6 line and a mandarin or a royal gramma not go well together?

Six line occupy the same ecological niche as mandarins and will compete away their food (which is insufficient in your tank to start). They are aggressive and in a small tank will constantly be seeing the gramma loretto.

For compatibility questions please reprovide the entire stocking list since I cannot easily go back on this thread. I have done thousands of these and my memory is poor. sorry.

The Longnose Hawkfish is around 2 1/2 inches now. Will the shrimp be dinner when the Longnose Hawkfish is mature or should I make arrangements now to sell to LFS? when is not known, but having ambush predators in your tank that eat shrimp will eventually mean the shrimp will be dinner

Again thank you!

hi! 180g 6ft tank. i have a juvenile blond naso. would there be any behavior issues with adding either a juvenile Kole Yellow Eye Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus), or a White Tail Bristletooth Tang (Ctenochaetus flavicauda). i understand that naso will need a longer tank and will upsize in the near future.

Naso literatus is relatively peaceful as are any of the Ctenochaetus species tangs. Any Naso tang will not be "happy" in a six foot tank.

thanks for the quick reply, i hope all is well with your health! would having 2 Ctenochaetus with naso be eventually problematic behaviorally?

In a six foot tank, as the fish mature and expand their perceived need for territory, it could be problematic. Thanks for the kind wishes.

Hi, My tank is now up and running, cycled, had diatom bloom, CUC has been added (10 snails & 5 dwarf hermits)

30g DT (LR & 1.5" sandbed)
20g Sump
Skimmer
extra LR rubble and 2"sandbed in sump
2*39w T5

Could I add:-

~ 1 x Common Clown
~ 3 x Blue/Green Chromis
~ 1 x Royal Gramma
~ 1 x Coral Beauty

If so in which order and how frequently? not only how soon but also maximum time before introducing another fish, I've heard/read that leaving too long of a gap between adding can cause issues with new tank mates fitting in.

Could I add:-

~ 1 x Common Clown I assume A. ocellaris?
~ 3 x Blue/Green Chromis will likely become one over time; also chromis are damsels and aggressive. My advice would be towards a different non aggressive fish
~ 1 x Royal Gramma
~ 1 x Coral Beauty with no chromis, should be fine

With some fish that establish territories, that is correct. Assuming no chromis, simply insure the coral beauty is last

Would there be anything else worth considering to add instead of chromis? Was looking for fish that would remain small... Or would you consider my tank full with the above list?

The number of fish you are proposing is fine, but I would not do chromis because they are aggressive and too active for this sized tank. There are lots of excellent well behaved small fish; do some research and I will happily reevaluate your stocking list.

Should I get rid of my six line wrasse? Whenever I observe it's behavior it's seems peaceful. It doesn't pick on the clown goby, firefish or my rods onyx clown. I have read everywhere it may attack my shrimp and snails and possibly fish. I have all of these coexisting together for about 5 weeks now with no problems.

I cannot advise, only that I suggest that this fish can be a pain, especially in a small tank. Five weeks is nothing in this hobby from a compatibility perspective, generally I measure success in terms of one year.

I have a 5.5' 178 gallon build about to be filled and a 29 gallon QT.

Looking to add a female lineatus wrasse early on.
.
Could I successfully add a male later? I have an acclimation box.

Also, planning other fairy wrasses (maybe labout''s or flame) and possibly a flasher wrasse or 2.

Is the lineatus peaceful enough to be added earliest?

As always, thank you for the advice,

Adam

Hi I have a 60 gallon cube with a 20 gallon sump/refugium, currently I have a pair of marron clown and 3 chromis, I would like to add a bio color angel and a flame angel and if possible when the tank matures a little more a mandarin.
If it makes a difference I have a skimmer rated for 100 gallos and I run a dual reactor with carbon and Gfo.
Thanks

Once sexually mature, and breeding, these will want to control about 50 gallons of tank space; since they are very aggressive, this will limit choices going forward

and 3 chromis, which will likely become one or two in time

If the clownfish allow, one dwarf angel is easy

when the tank matures a little more a mandarin. problematic in this sized tank unless you add a producing refugium

I have a 75 gallon mixed with about a 15 gallon sump.

2 Banggai Cardinals (mated)
5 Pajama Cardinals
1 Firefish
1 Green Canary Blenny
1 Blue Assessor
1 Redhead Fairy Wrasse
1 Tomini Tang
various Snails and a few Hermits (crabs are probably going away), and 3 Peppermint Shrimp.

1 small hammer coral frag
3 small SPS frags

The only fish I still really want to add is a Blue Spotted Jawfish. I have read here the Blue Spot needs cooler temps, but my LFS has one in a normal reef tank and other resources online seem to indicate they will live in normal reef temps?

How is my Bio-Load? My ORP has been stable low, as have my nitrates.

I will be adding more coral over time, but I won't be packing the tank. I have no special issues with incompatible fish so far.

The dominant one over time will kill the others except in very large tanks
