If your having problems with the torch stinging corals i would frag it (just enough to where it doesnt sting any corals) then you solve a problem and make a few bucks at the same time!

My bubble tip anemone had grown to about 14" across and it was acting weird for a couple of days. Then I notice it split into two. Kinda cool, each one has an off center mouth now, and one of them moved so I had to rearrange a couple of things. One acro frag may have been killed in the process. Also I've been battling some Aiptasia anemones. I have been hitting them with kalk paste, and that works but there are some that are right on top of corals. So I don't want to Kalk paste them and damage a coral. I bought the majano wand, and it works fairly well. The anemone's are pretty quick to retract deep into the rockwork when you get close so sometimes you miss. Also, there are just some areas I cant get to. I bought a matted File Fish who are known to eat Aiptasia. He's been in the tank for three days and I havent seen him get close to an Aiptasia yet. This will be a bummer if he doesn't eat them cause he's a butt ugly fish, lol. If this doesnt work, I may have to try the Bhergia Nudibranchs.

Ha Ha, took a few top down photos I just finished treating the tank with Chemi-Clean for cyano. I was experimenting with raising nutrients, got nitrate up to 12 and got cyano. So now it's mostly gone and I got the nitrate down to 5. Alk 7.3 Ca 440 Mg 1350 Sg 1.026 pH 8.3 I've been dripping in a gallon of kalkwasser a few times a week to keep the pH up. My Shallow Reef
Thanks Rob,
Thanks lots of little things, keeping Alk stable which is easier to say than do. I test Alk almost daily. Good flow, cleaning off the power heads and return pumps is important and something I ignored for awhile. I read Big E's thread and changed my t5s to ATI coral+ and blue+, and added SB led royal blue bars to supplement (tip from Mike Biggar). Also have lots of well fed fish, that feed the corals. If my Alk drops a little, I'll drip in a gallon of Kalkwasser overnight which helps keep the pH up as well. My Dendrophilia is sprouting a bunch of new heads! This guy is almost covering a 3 inch ceramic disc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A few of the frags you gave me a while back are really starting to grow out. I think my tank is finally in balance just as I get ready to take it down

If the tank is doing well, maybe just let it keep going in the basement when the new tank comes. I'll give you a fresh bunch of frags for the new tank.

Found these nice little braces to attach the top box to the legs. Moved the clownfish tanks around to make room, now waiting on some new bulkheads from BRS. Gotta figure out what skimmer to buy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
