Yup! the pictures of the house....come on, 2500sq feet holding a 1050? I have a 4000aq ft home, and would never think of puting that in a house. Unless you don't mind taking up 2 whole rooms. I think I smell a rat too. I hope not, people take this seriously, and put tons of time and energy into this wonderful hobby. BS!!!

Because it is one thing to say "hey if you had no limits on spending what equipment would you get?" and another to put together a BS story about a dead grandfather.

Admins close this thread please before it gets ugly.

Are the local public aquariums usually this cooperative with a new hobbyist?

I'm not buying it.

Two considerations that make this seemingly unplausible.

First, getting a 160" x 48" tank into a basement is going to require some serious work unless it is a walk in basement. From the picture it is not.

Second, the weight of this tank would be enormous. At only 1/2" thick glass each of the long panels would be 266lb. I also doubt that a 14' panel of glass is a standard size even from glass manufacturers.

Bingo... Perhaps his time would be better spent coming up with a recipe for sweeter smelling BS... He's shoveling this stuff on so heavy I can smell it from my thread.

I just hate to see threads like these, especially when there are hobbyist with actual problems on this site.

Over 800 views and 50 responses, this has already gone too far.

That being said, I'm done adding to this disgrace

Oh man I missed so much. So, let me get this straight. If anybody has forgotten, his original occupation said med school but in his original post he said that he just quit his job and will have nothing going on for the next few months. Now his occupation says he was a sales rep for verizon. Ok, moving on.

Here is what has transpired thus far:

1) Ordered a 350g tank from GC (who blindly orders such a large tank?)
2) Purchased $500 in books
3) Canceled order on tank after getting advice
4) Someone said it's unbelievable GC allowed him to cancel his order
5) Admitted GC did not cancel the order
6) Decides to go with a 14' tank (how would you get it in the basement of such a small house?)
7) Says the 14' tank will be ready in 2 weeks
8) People don't believe tank will be ready in two weeks
9) Admits tank won't be ready in 2 weeks
10) Claims entire tank will be setup in a month

Have I missed anything?

Sorry, but I would think that a med student with a very wealthy grandfather wouldn't have to work as a Verizon sales rep and be foolish enough to ask hobbyists such a general and broad question as his first post.

EDIT: I want a screenshot of the completed order for the $500 of books or this thread is complete BS. I also want a screenshot of the receipt for the 350g tank that was ordered. Then we can go back to taking the OP seriously.

okay so what do you guys want from me? Im just trying to share a part of my life with you. Im not trying to start an argument on some controversial issue. I just wanted some suggestions I didn't want to cause such a big investigation. I feel like I just killed someone the way you are searching my photobucket and posting my little brothers picture in the forum, I guess that is supposed to make me look stupid. I'm sorry for having a little fun while helping him set up a nano. Damn, I'm not trying to prove anything because in reality If you are saying i'm full of crap there is nothing I could do to make you change your mind short of meeting you in person.

here's the books I was given by my local aquarium club

[IMG][/IMG]

Some more I acquired through various sources (online, local book stores, used)

[IMG][/IMG]

If you want to sit here and accuse me just don't post thats fine with me, Think whatever you want I'm not forcing you to do anything. If you still have some valid advice I'm certainly open to hear it but im done proving things to you because as I said thats impossible you have already decided. but anyways Thanks for the great advice so far, I have decided on a volcano skimmer because I have the room for it. I just still dont know on light yet....

why don't someone just call glasscages and ask if someone is building something like this, you heard on a forum they were and you like the dimensions, and you want to know if you can drop by and see one that size before you order it.

okay jigs up, damn I just wanted to hear what everyones thoughts on their dream equipment was. I was hoping to kill a few hours of insomnia hear what the best equipment was and wakeup tommorow to find this thread on page 5. Haha it was kinda fun to create an alternate identity. just goes to show how damn hard it is to keep a lie going. to be honest I thought I was going to be called out on the first reply. oh well. It was fun to see what the dream equipment was for the first page and 1/2 before this erupted. Again i didn't mean for this to go on so long, but it was like spur of the moment, its kinda fun to try and prove someone wrong even though you are wrong haha kind aliek a challenge but oh well wasted time at work today

but what about the books??? didn't that help any credibility??!?!?! thos were great pics!

Hahaha he probably didn't even realize he was posting under Joetaff. He forgot to logout and login as his new alias.

There is a chance we will see Moved On in their near future.
