Thought I would bump this. Some stunning and inspiring pics taken with the "cheapo" cameras. Let's see some more!

here are some recent pictures I've taken with my new canon d10, their waterproof point-and-shoot.

So are these taken with the camera fully submerged? Looks great either way.

Forgot to add... if you care to put the price of the camera, that would be awesome as a reference

Yup, stuck it in macro mode and about 4-5 inches from the corals while the camera was in the tank.

Here's my contribution:

Camera: Canon A590IS I bought for $95 on craigslist. I did hack it with CHDK to enable precise manual focus, RAW support, and histogram.

Thanks! The coral in the first picture I bought as an ORA Purple Plasma, but I think it was mislabeled. I think it's just a valida of some sort. The second is a Christmas colored acan. The third is a Blue Tort, and the fourth is a Purple Pillow.

None of mine are photoshopped. Well, all I do is adjust the white balance and crop. That's it.

Canon seems to be the brand of choice. Any more out there?

I bought a Canon Powershot D10 for snorkeling (waterproof to 10 meters or 33 feet). Was about $280 from Amazon, free shipping. Works pretty good for tank shots, too!

Love the harlequin shot. What is that the third picture down (between the zoanthid shot and the hermit crab shot)?
