Hah! Had a friend give me one early on before we both realized what they were. Fortunately I figured it out before it spread uncontrollably.

Worst thing for me was probably phophate-laden pellet food. Just a short time of feeding with it and my levels shot way up. Had some casualties related to that.

Blue Damsel, aka "The Blue Devil", along w/ his partner in crime "Yellowtail Devil". They were my first two fish. Was told they were a good starter fish by lfs. One day they were trying to kill my yellowheaded jawfish and that was it. I tore the tank apart to catch them, they are lucky I had cooled off by the time I got em. Now some poor sap has them.

An emerald crab that ate coral and knocked everything over. I was never able to catch it and also celebrated when he died

undulated trigger. when i had a fowler i put the smallest tiniest little guy in there. he was sooo shy at first barely coming out at all. them one day i woke up to a total massacre. he killed a niger, tomato clown, naso tang, and a lion fish. poor guys i felt terrible for putting him in there. they really are the meanest and most territorial fish ever.

Spent over 2hrs last night, pulling over 100lbs of rock out that I had setup just perfect to get the bugger out. It wasn't until I got the 2nd last piece of rock out that I couldn't figure out where he went.... then I start to hear this fluttering sound in the large container I was putting the rock in. Yup, he hid in one of the rocks I took out of the tank. I start digging through the container to find him, prolly spent 60+ seconds out of the water. Finally got to him and put him in the fuge.

After work today I made him someone elses problem. Will not miss the damsel.
This is a Fun thread to read.. I really needed a good laugh!!!(long week at work) I feel sorry for the person that got your yellow tail damsel.

My worst... Was putting a sand sifting goby into my tank with very fine sand along with MP-40 vortech's. Can you say: SANDSTORMS.. I had to pull out all the fine sand and goby to prevent the SANDSTORMS that would happen..all in all I found a good home for the goby. Pulling out all that sand really *****, you know....

I was gonna say the Yellow-tail damsel... then I was reading the posts... and then I was gonna say Sally-light foot... then I kept reading... and then I was gonna say Anthelia...

I don't know if I could choose which of the nightmares would top the list. But watching my Lawnmower Blenny get dropped on from above, and have both of his eyes popped out by the Sally... top the 'Horrifying Event' list

My friend has you all beat. He had a reef tank years ago, and liked to go diving. He called me and said things were dying, and he didn't know why. I go to his house to find a nice metal window/porthole he found while diving, sitting in the tank. I looked at him...are you serious? you don't know why everything is dying...seriously?? Couldn't be the big hunk of metal sitting in the water?? I really gave him the business...still make fun of him for it.

I can't decide if it was the Brown Jewel Damsel that took over half my 210ga DT or the Green Star Polyps that has taken over the whole thing.

The Brown Jewel is gone but I am still working on the Green Star Polyps....

In my first tank I added Caulerpa grape algae, thinking it would look nice in the corner of my tank and could use it as nutrient export. Bad idea, red flat worms hitchhiked and the algae went asexual turning my tank cloudy.

A small horseshoe crab. I watched him float to the bottom, dig in the sand, and disappear. Havent seen him in months. it was the best $25 I have ever spent.

I guess you can take your pick. Wartskin Angler, or a Bi-Color Angel. With the Angler, I can't have any smaller fish in the tank, but it being only a 54gal, I can't have any larger fish in the tank either. With the Angel, the Dwarf's are about the only correct size algae eaters that I can get in my tank, but it was definitely a mistake adding a Bi-Color!

filter feeding pink cucumber. Didn't really do much for 2-3 months, then one night crawled up the glass got stuck in a powerhead and got it's stupid self shredded. In the space of 8 hours we were sleeping crashed the whole tank. Lost all fish but one clown (my wife nicknamed her Reba cause she was the only "survivor" - corny right?) and every coral died. Was awful......never again!

Mushrooms. I tried removing them all when I changed over to a stony dominated tank, but they kept popping back up. Four years and one tank upgrade later, they're still here. Grrrr

Well, if we're gonna go this route, I should probably change my answer to my cat. I had the canopy off while working on a powerhead, and he dove after a lyretail anthias and got a little more than he bargained for. It took me forever to net out all the cat hair floating around the tank.
