On board for a sweet build.

Also, there are a few options for acrylic scratches. If they aren't too deep, check into a scratch kit otherwise this kit or this kit should work for deeper scratches.

Your setup is almost identical to what I have planned in my head. Except alot nicer! Whenever I find a house and get me and my family out of this apartment, I may start one to join the club

Got the lighting done today...

The accent lighting for the back splash...

The T5 fixture...

I still have to straighten out the cords and the height of the fixture.

for the chords you could use some of that cord wrap for home entertainment center wiring, it has velcro on it and is kind of a mesh, looks really nice and can cut to length

Hello,

well I am taking care of a tank which is 660g and where 2 vlamingiis where in and it was in principle even too small for them.
So the size of yours I guess will not fit in rays or sharks needing even more space - sorry (at least I never would do it)
But a nice thread about the build and for sure good for other species.

regards

Markus

Good idea, do you think they would sell that a Home Depot or Lowes?

Hi Markus,

I respect your oppinion, but I think I would have to disagree.

Well, the Sharks/Rays that I am thinking about doing are...

- Bullseye Stingrays Urobatis concentricus
- Altantic Stingrays Dasyatis Sayi
- Mexican Horn Sharks Heterodontus mexicanus

Not all of the above, probably just 2 Sharks and 2 Rays.

The Horn Sharks only get 2 feet and are pretty lazy sharks, and the 2 species of stingrays get about 12 inches in diameter plus 10 inches for the the Atlantic's tail and plus 5 inches for the Bullseye's tail. I believe that this is sufficient amount of ground space for these animals.

What was the dimensions on the 660g? As for the Vlamingiis, I think this would be big enough, but if down the road they appear to have outgrown the tank I will find them a new home.

Very cool. The tank in the video is pretty much what I want to do also. For some time I've wanted to get a pair of Dick Perrin's captive bred epaulettes. The whole concept of breding sharks is very alluring to me.

Good Luck

Thanks Bozler! Yeah, hopefully one day I can breed sharks and rays.

This is so cool.

I say when it is done, we all meet at Alex's house to check it out. Don't forget your beach towel for all the drool.

This is just like a great movie series. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next sequel.

Well, I got some things done today...

Made the mounting brackets for the powerheads.

I made them out of acrylic and they will be atached under the shelfs, making them sit about a foot under water.
