It's too early to tell. I am getting new tips on the birdnest, and the frags I glued down are growing over the glue. I don't think growth will be an issue, but the ability to retain color. I have seen too many LED tanks where the coral are obviously growing but every color looks flat. With this Kessil I threw in some browned out acros that are getting some nice colors already.

I have pics on my phone, now if i can only get a signal with my terrible sprint service and my android doesn't freeze up maybe it will down load them.

it's been a few months and now they seem to be available @ most if not all vendors.

and for all the new guys and gals that got them feedback please.

I am between these and a DIY LED kit.

I am still happy. I have been using the 10K over the biocube and everything is still growing. Just got a issue with the water param recently. I made the simple mistake of not checking my RO water and it ended up creepin to 146 TDS. So now the SPS ia a little on the brown side and there is diatomic algae on the sand. whoops.

yeah, iam very interesting to get one or two for a 40 breeder. i have sps, lps and clam. Do you think 2 will cover everything? i really like the shimmering, plus the price is more reasonable for small tank like mine.

I just got 2 of the 10K the other day for my 65gallon (36x24x18) is it looks great! Your 40 breeder is same footprint but a little shorter so you should be fine. I love the intensity and the shimmer. I have a couple of SPS and mostly LPS and they're doing fine. I don't have any clams, however.

nice! how about posting some pics... my build got put on hold so I am still in the market for led lighting. thinking of doing a DIY so I can dim them at night/evening. that is what these lights are missing in humble opinion...

but I am still thinking about these too.

Thanks, jluspo. yeah, i would not too worry about the clam as long as the SPS are happy, the clam will happy too. have anyone else been using this light for awhile with corals? Could you tell us how are your corals doing? growth and color. Thank you for sharing.

Here is my single 10k over my 36x18x21, love this light so far probably going to get another 10k in the near future! 2 of these in your 40b will definitely cover everything!

Here is a picture of my 65 gallons with 2 Kessil 10k lights. Sorry for the poor picture quality . . . it's from my camera phone. It's not very apparent here but the shimmer is really outstanding.

I'm thinking about converting a section in my sump to a frag grow out. How do u think this would do as the sole grow out light on a 17" by 17" ? Wanting to grow sps and zoas. I could set the frag rack at whatever depth I wanted. Which color do you think would produce the best results for growth?

Did you guys see this?

It's a side-by-side comparison between a Kessil A150w and a 250W MH. The Kessil is obviously not as bright as the MH but take a look. I wish someone make a side-by-side comparison next to a 150W MH.

Recent PAR for the 10K on a 29 gallon biocube

The LED is 4" from the water, and maxed out the meter at 2888.

Surface was about =2000

Mid tank, 8" from surface =400-500

bottom 15" =80-90

The flashing this thing gave made it hard to settle on a number.

Par readings for the 10K were not on the first page. Frick just posted them on this page, thanks Frick.

Im just north of Denver.

I wonder if the 10k would work in a frag tank to grow out frags faster than under a 400w 20k in the DT?

So good PAR directly under the LED, but not much penetration. Sort of expected I guess for the wide optics and low power. How quick does the PAR drop off to the sides though? Assuming it maintains decent PAR to the sides, looks like it should be a good nano or frag tank light.

I doubt it. The A350 (when released) might have a good chance to compete with a 400w halide.

Yes, there was a bit of drop off on the sides. It is a pretty narrow angled lens. The fixture was really designed for nano tanks in mind.

Everything else was originally designed to do something else and rigged in to an aquarium fixture. The parent company DiCon is very large and makes similair chips for fiber-optic devices. They own the company, the manufacturing, marketing, etc.

This is also the first LED with a glass lense over the 21 diodes, allowing a majority of the usuable UV to get through. The shimmer is like no other LED or aquarium light for that fact. Once you see one in real life you will be hooked.

Took some PAR readings on a 29 Biocube. The 10k topped out at 2888 two inches from the diode. at surface and 6" away it was around 2000. Below the surface about halfway down the tank i got 400, in the sand it was a little over 100. Not bad. The company does not claim to be equivalent to a 150watt halide PAR.

The down side. Yeh... the release date it getting a little drawn out. I was told the end of July. There is only one attachment (the gooseneck) available sold separately and I am not sure if that will be ready the same time as the fixture. It can be hung by eye-hooks tho.

They are not dimmable either. But there is talk of the 350 model being so.

Some pics

The 15k over my 28 Nano. Looks more blue than it actually is.

It sure WAS posted on the first page.
