My wife thinks I spend more time and money on my tank than her or the kids (it might be true).
I have a secret "tank fund" hidden in my closet my wife can no longer park in the garage due to fish stuff I put filter socks in the laundry with my wifes clothes I use the good towels to soak up spilled salt water I use my wife's measuring cup for measuring salt RO/DI was installed under the sink for "drinking water" (yeah right) the ice cube trays now have homemade fish food in them fish food co habitats with the ice cream bars in the freezer I love the smell of freshly mixed salt water I save baby food containers for frag swaps my wifes large mixing bowl is used for acclimation Wife wouldn't allow another tank so built a 40br sump with an extra large fuge for use as a second display.. After one tank gets up and running smoothly it's tradition that I have to go and start planning on my next tank upgrade. It seems to double in gallons every time, I might as just start tripling the gallons. 5g hex>10>20tall>20tall w/10g sump>40br w/20g sump>added 40br sump....and planning a 90g for march.... Need I say more. Nubs be warned!

When I am not on reef central, researching my builds, actuating my builds, or sleeping I am thinking about it. I hide scetchup renderings around the house so my girlfriend does not see them. I dont sleep right when I cant access reef information daily and I dont sleep at all when I can. I run out of things to read and am forced to reread much material, it is not giving me the kick that it new info does. I find myself reading works of the sources that are cited in reef keeping's articles.

Hi, I'm an addict and my highlight of the week is Friday, when the new corals arrive. Do I need to say that I informed my boss that I 'need to work in my home office' on Friday?
On the upside it is one of the only addictions that are great to present to guests. |

A great thread for a first post. Yes, I'm addicted to this site. Have not had a tank in 20 years, a lot has changed, and I've spent the past three months reading here and learning the right way to do it. If this site was only around in the 80's, I probably would have had more success.
