Really nice tank, Mikey. Those big ole shrooms are really something.

Update

The new LEDs are settling in nicely.

The color of the LEDs, plus the PC light are fairly accurately reproduced in these photos. Big ups to my man SkullV for his generous LED donation.

Oh man I forgot how much better these look with the white LEDs. When I had mine I also zip tied a couple of these:

http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips

in Blue to the light bar to add some "actinic" supplementation. Worked really well and they are waterproof.

This is what I did. Honestly, I don't know if I can see a major difference. The one thing that is nice, I used it to block the PC bulb from bleeding out through the hood. Hopefully it will also block salt spatter from rusting the hood. It seems like all the old Fluval Edge tanks are experiencing a little rust on the mesh part of the hood.

SkullV - Those look great, I'm going to consider buying a few strips and ziptie-ing them on. The PC bulb does so little to improve the look...

It's these guys right here:

You can also jam a larger MR16 bulb in there, but you have to make a really waterproof splash shield for it since they sit VERY close to the water line.

Looks tight. I just got my 12 gallon in that came with the new LED lights. Hope I can figure out this saltwater business...

Thanks kitty.

I'm wondering if a Biocube airstone-driven skimmer would fit under the light fixture.

Got a yellow clown goby, possibly the smallest fish I've ever bought! He's in there now, just doing his thing. Pics to come!

Here he is, sitting on his throne. It's the highest point in the tank!

One of his many lounge chairs.

Drained it in the old kitchen. Carried it to the car. Drove it to work. Filled it back up.

Took about an hour! (a major relief after spending a whole day breaking down my old 56G and smelling the sand bed that had been undisturbed for 3 years)

Water has cleared up, it's like the move never happened.

Anyone have a skimmer running on these and what are the lighting options available? I see a Fluval Edge cheap around where I live.... so I am curious

I don't know of anyone running a skimmer but I'm sure its possible. I was thinking of rigging up something similar to the MAME skimmer.

a modifed biocube (airstone) skimmer would probally work youd have to shorten chamber... but then again with such a small tank water changes really dominate. How do you plan to change water in office? transport new water from home?

Water changes? No one has ever told me about this.

Yes, I plan on transporting water from home. With no fish, I don't need to change water a lot.

Oh yeah my fish died.

I drilled the back of my fluval edge to allow for a 2.5g sump, with an aquaticlife nano skimmer on it. Works much bettr than the cruddy HOB filter that came with the tank 2 years ago.
