Some more progress on the stand. My tank is located by me bedside but kinda close to my bed...in otherwords there is no way i can swing the doors open all the way...and no way to get inside into the stand to work or do maintenance. So I came up with a good idea so that I wont run into that problem when I need to get down there.
I used double sided velcro and put it behind the doors and also along outside of stand..problem solved! Also! Did I mention I got a Reef Keeper Plus Aquarium Controller
Installed on the outside of the right door stand drilled a hole behind it to run and hide the cable and screwed it in place

Heres a pic of some plumbing I did underneath the tank. I figured it would be much easier to do this part before placing it on the stand

Im ready to make the plunge, but I just cant make up my mind as to which one i want between the 70g and the 100 gallon from them lol. My LFS became a supplier, and they are supposed to have them in here in a couple weeks. I dont want to get the 70gallon and wish i had the 100 gallon lol. OR vice versa. I hate decisions!

Lol yea I originally was gonna get nano, then 50 cube, then 50 long, then finally settled on the 70 . I didn't want to wish later that I had gotten the 70. I wanted something kinda in the middle. Not too small...not too big so that way I wasn't limited to options livestock and coral wise. Iam glad I went with the 70. I like the dimensions. It's like a cube and rectangular tank in one

The 70 gallon has the dimensions ive been looking at for a while. But recently I came across a 48 x 24 x 18 tall, and i really liked it.. I dont think I can go wrong with either tank. I might just be able to get a small tang if i got the bigger one, The girlfriend is bugging me about a tang lol.

Im following along. I have the same skimmer on my reef. I think you will be very happy. Also, I'm looking at getting a custom rimless from cadlights. How do you like the overflow? How many holes and what size? Thanks.

Oh thanks lol I was beginning to think not may people were interested in my build cause nobodies really saying much or asking many questions? Yea the skimmer is nice. Well the overflow is nicely made also with perfect seams and also comes with a cover. Theres 2 holes on the bottom. 1 inch drain and 3/4 for return. Underneath though ive converted the 3/4 to 1 inch also so ill have all 1 inch plumbing underneath the tank as you can see by the picture I posted above. The return is one loc line but Iam converting mine into 2. Hope that helps

More Pics. Inside stand. Right Side. No hanging wires...all cables going straight into holes and out the back. One thing I cant deal with is cable clutter.

The sump inside the Stand

I can pull and slide the sump right out if I needed to

Im lovin the quality parts going into this build. Then you are making your bedroom around a reef tank! Sweet, wish I could handle the noise of one in mine but alas I am a light sleeper dang it...keep the updates coming, I for one am following along. DOnt get discouraged that you arent getting a lot of chatter. It happens on here, people look but dont talk since there isnt much to say when youre just assembling custom made stuff. Once you get water in, youll get lots of questions and comments!

So what are your plans for this tank?

Yea lol Chris thats why its kinda taking some time...since i am fixing my room Ive got two projects on my hand simultaneously but the tank seems to be alot more work lol. Its ok I figure its just for now and the hard work will pay off and after that the system and frequent water changes should be able to take care of the tank itself and I shouldnt have to worry about it too much.
Well my plans for the tank are SPS dominant. Ive never kept corals before but Iam learning lots from Reef Central so well see how it goes. I plan to take my time with this and not add too much coral in the beginning. Ill add one sps frag to see what happens and soon lots more will follow. I think being patient is the key. Other than that I plan on posting youtube video updates as well showing the progression of the tank.

Hello Kami, great build so far. I'm on the fence about ordering the same tank since I don't have the room for a 4 ft. tank. Going to be watching your build for a month before I decide to take the plunge!

Well how much room do you have? Maybe go with the 50 cube?
