In all aspects the genesis is a better solution (IMHO) - unfortunately sometimes it just doesn't fit or work for the tank. In my case I have about 35 feet to go and no-where to put the bins, so the peristaltic solution makes more sense.

this system has made my life so much easier. i get to spend more time enjoying the tank... instead of doing water changes!

It is nice! I switched over the peristaltic based system due to limitations in the new house that prevented getting the Genesis system in - I miss the genesis!

Love my Genesis
I bought mine back in November or so but just installed it in the last month. So far flawless. I have Red Sea Reefer 250 so about 57 gallons plus my custom Trigger sump. Nothing better than just mixing up 25 gallons and doing one gallon water change per day or knocking out 5 gallons in a row. I also have the Store and RocV and so far those are doing great too. Pricey,,,,,,,but oh so worth it.

I'm really looking forward to adding this to my build. You can have it do 90 gallons a week and do close to 50% monthly WC on a 720. Would this be too much change?

That would be way too much to change. If your going to do daily water changes 10% weekly is more then enough. I would do 5-10 gallons a day if I were you. I have a 540g tank and will be doing 4-5 gallons daily.

You would not need to plug it into the Apex. The Genesis has it's own Controller.
If you are running a separate ATO and not the Genesis Storm, it would be best to set your ATO to OFF while the Genesis is in action. You can view a great setup video of the Genesis System in the Genesis Systems Sponsor Forum.
