damn bud, that's a badass sump.

Thanks for going over the details of the sump. Didnt think I would watch 5 minutes about a sump, but I enjoyed it.

Those mitras looks sweet. Can't wait to see some livestock get into the tank..

Hahaha thanks man!

I didn't realize it was 5 minutes but that's how long it took to go over it all quickly. Lol

Should be adding live stock soon!

great looking tank, love the rock work, did you put siphon holes in your return for when the pwr goes out,all though your sump looks like it might handle it, great sump as well.

I did and I attached an elbow with a little tube onto it so that it is constantly spitting water back into the over flow area. This way as soon as power goes out the siphon breaks! (Although I have a generator that automatically kicks in 10 seconds after a power outage so it doesn't really matter)

Some updates......

I have put in my White Tail Bristle Tooth Tang after 5 weeks in QT and my bicolor from my old 125 gallon reef. They are both doing really well and will not leave each others side for more then 10 seconds, its pretty cool!

I have also put in some of my hammers, my elegance, wells, and some SPS.....everything is doing very well as of now and all of my levels are staying in check! i will be testing my ALK, Calc, and mag every other day to see when i need to start dosing, but as of now, everything is good!

Ill post some pictures soon!

Thanks, and yes i agree it is too early to tell as far as corals are concerned but the spread on one of these lights is insane, two light my whole tank no problem what so ever!

They are as good as they say they are for sure!

One amazing thing i found with these lights........you can not find ONE SINGLE PERSON who has them and is not happy with them! That says a lot in this hobby!

Took me about 2-3 months to find one and when i did i clicked purchase instantly! Unfortunately it was so long ago now that i honestly do not remember where i got it from (it was in QT for 6 weeks).

Supposedly they will be coming in all around soon and not hard to find at all, which kind of sucks to be honest, lol!

He is by far one of my favorite fish! He has an amazing personality too lol

Clownin aroun- can you describe your process for making those anti siphon breaks on the return lines. I like the idea and want to modify it for my set up. Just wondering how you did it, did you glue it (weld on). In my set up I don't have my return lines in my overflow, so I would have to route the lines in the tank to the overflow, or maybe just vent into the tank just slightly above the water line.

It is a push fit elbow that is held on because i drilled the hole a tiny bit to small for the elbow. It is an elbow for an airline tube that you can get anywhere but it is black!

Yeah I have always just drilled a hole under the water line, but this idea could limit more water from entering my sump.

Yes, with this method you can drill the whole on the top and aim the airline tubing any where you want. this way you can have the siphon almost never start in the first place!!!
