Does the nitrate have to be 0 also?

Nitrates don't have to be zero. Some people, like me, have some Nitrates. Mine stay between 5-10PPM.

So after posting on Steve's thread I was told this would work better.

2 x True Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula)
1 x Firefish, Helfrichi (Nemateleotris helfrichi)
1 x Orange Stripe Prawn Goby (Amblyeleotris randalli)
1 x Tanaka's Pygmy Wrasse (Wetmorella tanakai) (I really want the 6line)
1x Snapping Shrimp, Red Banded (Alpheus randalli)

Also someone messaged me about the 6line and a CUC. They mentioned that the 6line is really hit or miss with aggression and that his was very, very relaxed.

So I wanted to know what you guys thought? Is it worth the risk, did he get lucky, or should i just stick to the pygmy?

As for the CUC i was told that a good mixture would be Nasarrius snails, star shell snails, cinnamon shrimp, turbo snails, and maybe some hermits but i should add extra empty shells. What do you guys think?
Looks like you are plodding along well. The Helfrichi is an expensive fish, may want to start with a less expensive firefish.

You will get algae blooms, and you will get some bad advice, but everything is doable, if you read, and look for a local aquarium club, I built a 55 setup almost entirely from second hand gear, only my return pump, display tank and first batch of rock was purchased new. I built my own stand, and with current stock, right about $700 invested

It is an expensive fish and I will probably be starting with the goby and snapping shrimp and the CUC. I really just want some life in there. My tank is done cycling and it sucks just having LR in there! So I think I plan on getting that to start with and then proceeding with saving up for my other equipment. Once I finish with that, then I will continue with my livestock.

Check ebay for these pumps: Aqueon Circulation Pump 500

You can usually get one shipped for about 20 bucks. They work great for me.

Aquaclear HOB filters are awesome. But a little expensive compared to other brands.
No expensive replacement filters required though.

My 40 gallon breeder has no sump. Just an HOB Filter. It does really well.

I did recently add a HOB skimmer. The water is definitely clearer.

Here's a recent pic:
