Dude I run a HOB aquaclear filter and a HOB skimmer on my seahorse tank. Yes it has non stinging corals too. My seahorses are as happy as can be and have NEVER had any issues with water quality. They also pop fry about every 2 weeks. Don't get me wrong I agree with some points but your a noob if you can't keep a tank stable with decent HOB equipment.

Anyway, if you do this, I hope you post on the forums. Being in Canada your day length changes will be even more than mine in PA. Also, I'm assuming you are not being sarcastic here and I am clearly OT.
There have been a couple thread with people using a couple solar tubes / natural light only. Good success and worth the read to see the issues they ran into with installation, etc.

If you come back to check the otherwise useless thread that is

My thoughts exactly after I saw the ad query thread.

Funny, I almost forgot about this. I have done some searches in the past but didn't dig too hard. Will try again. I have the luxury of not even having the house built yet so I can literally design anything I want right now. Just needs to be right when we start the build--tank and house.

But can you seriously argue you were trying to do a discussion, then call others trolls for posting pictures of their tanks run on simple equipment? You didn't want a discussion, you wanted to start a fire. I'd argue you telling someone to part out their tank to more responsible reef keepers is the troll statement trying to start a confrontation.
Exactly! Well put.
