Today i got this harlequin tusk:

I have always wanted to have one, but now that I have it on QT, I am having second thoughts about having it in my reef tank...

I know he won't bother the corals but I am worried about the neon dottyback, randall goby and spotted mandarinfish... or even my perculas... do you think they will be safe? Or they will be lunch?

Just rearranged the lights... insteqd of having them comming from the center I took them to the sides so the side view is well lot instead of full of shadows...

I measured PAR after that and it is 100 at the bottom, all acros receive 200-380

I guess I could use more light, maybe a t5 fixture on the middle? More leds of the same kind? Some par38 spots to the acro zones?

What would you do?

This is the steel base of the old aquarium.

We are taking out sole part of the legs to make it shorter.

I wil trim the old aquarium to half it's height and it will become a frag tank !!

I want to buy a dimable T5 lamp, saw ATI and Giesemann... any other brand you could recommend?

Meanwhile I installed a LED lamp I made some time ago.

The PAR measurements improved but not too much, but the looks improved greatly, better colors and less shadows.

The lamp has 81 LEDs divided in 9 channels, 4 different tupes of blue, 3 different types of UV, 2 types of white, 3 types of red and lime.

Will keep looking for a dimmable T5, either standalone or controllable with Neptune Apex... any suggestion is welcome !!
