It’s not conclusive. You could test it by oxygenating some cyno in a container and seeing what happens.

It woul be very interesting, even dare I say scientifically impactful, should a person design an experiment that test the growth of cyano with the only variables in each experiment being

Dissolved o2
Carbonic Acid
Atmospheric CO2
Atmospheric o2

If someone needs to publish a research article for school for whatever reason, there you go.

I can see the post now. “Help I am doing everything wrong and can not get cyno to grow.”

I have a small refugium with live rock, sand and mud. The chaeto does not survive too long. Thats a whole other project. Not sure why it keeps dying. I use a grow light from ebay and its on at night for about 8 hours.

I have battled this for some time now. I was on the boards and doing a search . I ran across a product that everyone swore by . All the post were over 10 years ago. I assumed the product was no longer made. I did a search and found it was still made . The company is Microbe-Lift they have a special blend . I called and talked to a rep there about the issue I had going on which was red slime / cyano . So I order it from the company as I wanted fresh product. I added the recommended amount to the system . Adding anything to a 1000 gallon system make's me worried. Well after 24 hours there was no loss in the system . The skimmer is working overtime , I ran filter socks to catch the first 24 hours to catch whatever was going to be reduced . It has now been 4 days the next dose is in 4 more days. The system is looking much better , water is clearer and slime is starting to go away. There are still a few more big treatment to go then it can be a weekly or every two weeks after that.

It's worth getting your fuge online and working the way you'd like it.

If you have to get rid of the cyano "like NOW" because it's killing corals, get some chemiclean. It works well. I've used it with no ill effects. Turn off your skimmer and change the filter socks.

I have a fuge.

It can get covered in cyano if I don’t manually remove it.
