I'm sure you're getting tired of hearing it, but the tank is amazing. When I saw the first picture, I thought to myself, "here's a tank where the guy doesn't reaquascape once a month. " You can really tell that you sit back and let it "do what it do". Congrats

Wow superb tank !
I'm so glad to have found this thread, because I'm currently in the process of setting up my 118g tank also. And my approach is going to be very similar to yours: keeping it as simple as possible, with equipement that are easy to maintain and demand little or no tweaking. I keep tagging along on this thread. Here's a link to mine: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...hreadid=744431 |

I'll post some pics soon. I have had some ups and downs...like loosing the slimer and having a BAD case of GSP. Not to mention loosing the sailfin due to a tank sitter overfeeding him. But things are doing ok and I'm still happy with it all.
And yes, not reaquascaping everyother month helps out too. Also not testing out new equipment nor trying new salts, nor trying out new additives helps out. Keep it simple and keep it stable. By the way, my skimmer hasn't been working quite like it used to so I'm pretty much running it skimmerless - and that's been interesting to observe. I'm out of town for the moment but will post pics soon.
