Hit reefgeek.com and order a 6 lamp retrofit kit but have them upgrade the reflectors to Ice Caps, cost like 2 bux per lamp extra. That would be enough for a clam on the rocks or a lower light clam in the sand and plenty for a BTA.

Reefgeek has the bst prices I have seen for full kits. You can check DIY reef and see what you can peice together a syst.

My current tank is a 40 long (footprint of a 55 but shorter) and I would like to get the pcs off of that. How many watts do I need with t5s? I currently have the current usa 4x65w fixture. I also plan on setting up a 40breeder. So Id also appreciate suggestions on that.

A 4 lamp tek retro of fixture with 54 watt lamps would be enough to raise anything in the 40 long. For the breeder 4 lamps of the correct length, 39 watts assuming the tank is 36" long will yeild the same results.

Not sure if you can fit them in the Nova without serious mods. the Tek reflector is just over 2 1/4" wide.

Yep, you could also look at the 5 lamp Aquactinics.com fixture too.

Click link on bottom...

I just bought from Tom and he is a member of the board. You can sit his units right on glass if you want. Individual reflectors included. I bought (2) 36 inch for my 125 gallon. It will have 10 39w HO T-5's. He said with the reflectors and that unit it would equal 960 watts of PC light and should be able to keep whatever I want in the tank.

Hey Grim thanks a lot for all your help. I think I am definetely going with a 4x54w retrofit kit from reef geek. What bulb combo should I go with for a bluish look? Also, how far above the tank should I mount the bulbs and should I put a piece of glass or acrylic up as a splash guard? And I read in another thread to upgrade to the icecap reflectors. Do you mean the icecap retro or can you just have them switch the reflector in the sls retro?

Sorry tio be a pain, but thanks for the help! You really seem to be the guy for t5 info.
