navyav8tr I love your tank. Im so glad you decided to take the invite to join our club. That is one sweet set up you got there, we look forward to the remainder of your build. I love the aquascape, simple, open, but with plenty of space for corals. I cant wait to see what it looks like when you have fish & corals in there!! Looking forward to it!

Navy: That's an awesome set up. Superb.

I haven't posted on this thread in quite a while. I felt the need to take a few updated pictures of the tank, so here's a few. Thanks cornerownians for indulging me... [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Here's wishing all you corner folks a happy VD!

Fox Face is doing awesome......He was the last fish to go in .....He was traded due to a misbehaving Koran.....The tang had some issues picking on the fox......But the spines have been a friendly reminder.......

This is my gallery, and i don't know how to get pics on the thread page! Sorry for the inconveniance, but i hope you like my tank! I certainly love it, and am so happy i got it instead of the 47gal. column i was looking into. As far as setup goes, here's the rundown:

Lighting - 96watt T-5 4bulb (adding 250watt Mogul XM 20k next week!), and 4 Blue Current Lunar Lights/Lunar Links

Filtration - Red Sea Prism Deluxe Skimmer (looking at buying the surface skimmer for it); 2.5gal. CPR fuge with Chaeto, Green and Red Grape Calurpa, Mexicana Calurpa, and Sawblade Calurpa.

Flow - Korallia 1 and 3 plus output from skimmer and fuge (adding Korallia 4 very soon)

About 90ish lbs Fiji Premium, Marshall Island, Tonga Branch, and Soloman Live Rock; and 30lbs Fiji Pink and 40lbs Black Beach Live Sand

Fish - Orange/Cream Wartskin Angler (3.5"), Bi-Color Pseudochromis (3"), Planning on 8 Line Wrasse, Chevron Tang, and Scopas Tang.

Corals - Lots and lots of SPS, LPS, Zoa, and Softy frags. Just getting into Acropora now, but have had Montipora, Stylopora, and Steriatapora for about a year.

Cleanup - Fancy Serpent Star; Crabs: Mexican Red Leg, Blue Leg, Scarlet Leg, Emerald, and Sally Lightfoot; Snails: Nerite, Cerith, Nassarius, Banded Trochus, Asterea, Margerita, and Turbo

I think thats it! Any questions you have are welcome, and i'm so happy that i found people who share my love for these unique tanks!

What method do you like to use? Band Saw? Are you in South Florida? By the way, your new tank build looks really nice. I can tell you know how to pay attention to detail. I like that. How bout some more recent pics?

The tank is just setting in. I have mostly sps frags right now and most are still on plugs. As things begin growing, I'll figure more about placement. I'm also waiting till mid March for my fish, because I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. So I was kinda joking about the acans. Though I do hope to cover most of the bottom with acans later!!!!

Jessy, thanks for the thread info!

Oceanmang - is Orange Crush Echinatta? I have a small frag of that in my tank and it's my all time favorite thing! Use a dremmel cutting wheel to get through the back side of the rock, and once your almost to the flesh, cut that with a scalple

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I agree a dremmel with a cutting wheel also. Cutting the fleshy part is easy. I use an exacto for that.

I haven't gotten "hooked" on the Acan craze like many have, but i will pick up any neon orange coral i can get my hands on! I am trying to fill my tank with mostly bright oranges, along with reds, pinks, purples, and blues. I think i have enough green in there

my tank is a 47gal corner
it is a pentagon (5 sided) tank that mesaures 22*22* 13*13*13 base height did not check sorry
front stand is a little bigger but not much

i have a heater that will handel a 70gal
i have a fluvel 404 canister filter
i have a backup fluvel 303 canister filter
tank lid/top can handel 2 18" fixtures
i have 1 18" light and i built 1 18" led panel that holds 70 led's

built my own stand so it does not look cheap and has extra supports

i also live in lima ohio so any local people maybe can help

I Got The Tank Due To Layout Of Room It Will Be In.
I Am Not Wanting To Get Rid Of I Will Have A Larger Tank Some Day When I Move But That Is Not For A While

THIS IS THE TANKS ON THE STAND I BUILT

(--)THIS SECTION IS A DOOR WITH SUPORT POLE INSIDE NICE LARGE OPENING

i'm going to use my canister fluvel 404 and get a pump and do a close loop i dont want a lot of power heads stuck all over the glass

and about 60-70lb of liver rock witch is 1.27-1.5 lbs per gal
closed loop system
think i am going to get a mh light
is 27.65 turn over per hour good or to much
if thats good i need a pump that will do 960 gph for my closed loop
any sugestions on pumps
i am also intrested in ideas and sugestions
prob going to get lr at saltwaterfish.com cause it is a good deal
who else has bought it off there input
i dont want to get the lr at lfs cause it looks like crap

Nice tank, MAYHEM_AUDIO. I'm very interested in your LED setup. When you are done with it, please post details and photos. Is the Greek column background permanent?

Thanks flannel, I appreciate the comment. The tank has been set up for a little over three years, but had a crash a year after while on a European vacation, so effectively 2 years in its current cycle.
I'm maxed out for coral space in the main lit areas, so now I'm looking for low light corals for those areas only receiving VHO.

PHISH GUY: I don't know on the wrasse type. I've asked a couple LFS and they call it a lined wrasse. I got him when he was less than healthy but he's fully recovered now. He's got some real nice coloration but he's always moving, very tough to get a good focused picture of him.
